Last night, we were working on ‘wait’ and call forward over obstacles at agility. Here are Willow and Betty showing how they can do a double act !
Things don’t always go to plan in fun dog agility classes - this is Slate deciding that running off with the jump cone was much more fun than doing the course 😆
Spud had brilliant focus tonight !
Here is Barley showing how to do the jump and the tunnel without any hesitation!
Tonight’s fun dog agility class was full of superstars !. Out goal was to get all 4 dogs to complete at least 2 obstacles without stopping but all of them went round the whole course by the end of the class 🙂. This is Nala showing us all how it’s done
It’s exciting - the agility tunnel has arrived ready for my brand new fun dog agility classes starting next Sunday - Maisie is trying it out for size 🐕
And here’s the follow up video with Woody finding his cheese in the tree !
A lovely dog walk today with my friend Mo and Maisie and Woody. I’m preparing for my dog training classes that start in April with some scent work practice involving a tree and some cheese !
Top tip for your snuffle mats - just shred your treats in to tiny pieces and it takes your dogs longer to find them - oh and it’s less calories !
I’ve been working with my friend Mo and her 4 year old labradoodle Woody on his recall. Woody gets very excited in areas where there are a lot of distractions and Mo has often struggled to get him back. Today he came straight back every time she used the whistle and he got his favourite treat - a piece of cheese ! Well done to Mo and Woody !! (Maisie was there just to help out of course !)
Maisie loves her Frog Kong - it’s kept her busy for the last 25 minutes with peanut butter in it !
I made a snuffle mat for my sister’s dogs for Christmas- Ruby loves it - look at that tail going !. They are really easy to make - just a plastic sink mat and strips of fleece tied to the mat.
One of Maisie’s favourite enrichment activities is the snuffle mat - it keeps her entertained for a good 15 minutes !
One of the things that I do with Maisie on our walks is scattering treats for her to find - she loves it and sniffing is a really calming exercise for dogs !
Another enrichment idea for you - Maisie loves her new licky mat in the shape or a bowl that she got for Christmas. Licking is a calming exercise for dogs so it can help them feel relaxed !
This is Woody checking out his stocking and demonstrating that there isn’t anything wrong with his sense of smell !
