Some FANTASTIC results for Trackwest’s Track & Search Trial on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th August.

On Saturday night, even though mother nature poured buckets on us all, we had three competitors gain their Track & Search Grand Champion title (DogsWest Pending). Congratulations to Julie & Sully, Cat & Delta and Vicky & Purdie – I’m sure a few doggies got special treats that night!

A number of others achieved passes although not titles but congratulations to you all, including those who weren’t so successful. Remember, there is always “next time”

On Sunday, we had 3 members gain passes in lower level tracks. It stayed dry but was extremely windy but the dogs coped very well.

Hopefully we will get a couple more titles before the end of the season.

Again, thank you to the Judges, Stewards, Minders and Tracklayers for your assistance – we couldn’t do it without you.

Volunteers needed to track lay on Wed 4 September tracking trial!

With another large entry we need volunteers so we have enough people to run the trial.

VOLUNTEER NEEDED ASAP!

The club needs a volunteer to steward for one of the judges at its Tracking Trial on Wednesday 14 August. If you are available please email [email protected] ASAP.

No prior experience needed, you need to be fit and able to walk approximately 5km and be available until around 1pm.

To ensure your qualifying cards are up to date with your dog’s titles, a few days after you have lodged your title applications please log into Top Dog Events and:

Select “My Dogs” then select the relevant dog’s name, scroll down and select “Update from Dogs Australia Database” then select Save Changes.

The new titles will appear on your dog’s record but only after Dogs Australia have processed it. If it doesn’t update please give it a couple of days and try again.

Future qualifying cards will then show your correct dog’s titles.

This weekend we held a Beginner's Course. We were very lucky with the weather and the dogs progressed well.

Congratulations to the 9 competitors who passed their Urban tracks last night.

Dogswest approval pending, Danielle & Puck attained their Track & Search Dog Excellent title and Sonja & Leia attained their Track & Search Grand Champion title – both with gradings of Excellent. Well done to you both. Two other teams were graded Excellent for their non title tracks. Obviously a lot of training has been taking place.

It was fantastic weather for it and all of the dogs seemed to enjoy themselves.

We had 2 track 5’s, one track 6, 5 track 9’s and a track 10 so a busy night for the Judges.

The Club would like to thanks the Judges, Stewards, Chief Steward, Minders and Tracklayers for their assistance as a lot more “helpers” are needed for these trials.

If anyone would like to assist with the next trial (tracklayer, steward or minder) to be held Saturday 17th August (evening) please let me know ([email protected]) – Judging will take place in the Thornlie, The Vines and Caversham areas.

Congratulations to competitors in Saturday's tracking trial who attained passes and titles (Dogs West pending). About 50% pass rate today. Good luck to those entered on Wednesday.
The club thanks judges Christine Weetman, Geraldine Jenkins and Kathlene Oliver for judging at this trial to support the high level of entries. And thanks to our Trial Secretary, Sarah Oliver, for her efforts in organising this and other trials this season.

Congratulations to Samantha Graham and Baci, Vicky Nemeth handling Purdie for Kirsteen Blake, and Julie Cranfield and Sully who all passed at TrackWest's Track and Search urban trial tonight under Karren McCluskey. Julie and Kirsteen attaining Track and Search Champion titles (pending DogsWest approval)

Congratulations to Di Rose and Chyme on achieving the Tracking Grand Champion title (DW pending) by passing both Track 9 and Track 10 yesterday!

Today our club member, Vicki Nemeth and her dog Arrow (Dayre Queste of Soul Dragon) became the first dog in WA to qualify for the new Tracking Grand Champion title (pending DogsWest approval) at the Advanced Tracking Club's trial. With a large entry of tracks requiring unknown track layers, we are struggling to assign appropriate track layers and cross track layers.

REMINDER: After a recent Rules review for Tracking and Track & Search, the new rules have been posted on Dogs Australia's website. https://dogsaustralia.org.au/members/rule-regulations/rules/ under the Tracking Heading. These rules take effect from 1st January 2024 but are still to be approved by DogsWest
For all interested parties, a meeting will be held at DogsWest Meeting Room 4 (lower oval) at 7pm on Wednesday 31st January 2024 where explanations will be given regarding the changes which can also be discussed.
Time may be limited so please have your questions ready.

Whilst the ANKC Ltd permits individual Clubs or Members to download and print the ANKC Ltd Rules for personal or club use, only ANKC Ltd State Member Bodies are permitted to download and print the ANKC Ltd Rules in a bound or other format for sale or distribution.
