Blue Velvet & Sir Okie
I honestly didn’t even think of starting a Rabbitry five years ago. I had a bunny I saved from being eaten, but it never occured to me that two years later I would be so in love with the Mini Rex Breed that I just want to spread the bunny love. A friend had a pair of Registered Mini Rex that they needed to find a home for and they thought of me because I already had a rabbit and I lived on a farm. So I said yes........ little did I know when I looked into those big blue eyes of Velvet the doe how much I would enjoy and love these beautiful animals. One stroke of their fur and I was smitten. Their personalities won me over more and more and I decided to bred them after about six months...... If I thought I was in love before.... one look at my beautiful Blue-eyed White Buck I was definitely a goner..... I was hooked. I named him Gram Parsons after one of my favorite singers. Then with my second liter I had another Blue-eyed white doe.... named her Jewel. I kept Sassy and Blue Orchid and now they are looking for their Romeo. I have sold my babies to 4H members and give discounts to both 4H and FAA members. My hope is to return Friday with the elusive blue-eyed buck for my sweet does. He is beautiful and when I have him at home and settled I will write more.
Needless to say, I love the Mini Rex breed and want to breed better, show worthy rabbits and I am on the way. I am so grateful to all the people who have helped me along the way with advice and encouragement. I would thank you all by name but there are too many to name here.
