Opus (BISS GCHS DC Doxwood Lorica's Opus Magnum At Siddachs MW) escaped the snowy northeast to sunny Chino, California. Today he was 2nd place of 12 field champions at the Dachshund Club of Santa Ana Valley field trial!

And, though I didn't breed him myself but I did breed his sire: Gator who is a son of CH Lorica Ruff Rider FDC NFP NE DCAT SWN SIA CGC TKI ATT FITS (aka Teddy) was 2nd place open dog! Gator was bred by Dr. Anne Rosenberg.

DC Tarlyn's On Your Mark at Lorica MW BCAT "Mazey" on a walk with me and the baby. The horse is The Charging Moa. She has raced in New Zealand, Australia and the USA! Pretty cool! She isn't ours - she's just currently enjoying retirement at our farm.

Belatedly bragging on the puppies from Robin’s second litter born 9/2023, owned by Colleen Clemett, who made their field trial debuts this past fall. It was also Colleen's first Dachshund field trials. She gave me permission to brag way back when... I just never got around to it til now 🤣

Dude (Renaissance Little Dude) earned a placement in almost every trial he entered including an Absolute!! He is a third generation absolute winner on his sire’s side. (Robin and Sparky are both also Absolute winners)

Daphne (Renaissance Deja Vu) also earned a few placements which is pretty awesome in the big OAAB stakes we have, for a brand new dog and handler. She has over 20 points.

Another old update, this one from September 15--

Honey may not look thrilled but I was. NBQ in her second trial of 17 OAAB. She was called back 4th and ran in 2nd series which she lost (though she sure had a blast); 1st was withheld so pushed her out of the placements but happy to still be in the ribbons.

Hey everyone! I know I've been really inactive lately. The dogs are all still doing great and we've gotten fabulous pupdates! I'll share when I can. We had a new human baby, Wyatt, in the end of October (coincidentally he arrived the last day I posted here 😅) and are also dealing with my sick elderly parents. I'm spending more time with my family (that includes the dogs of course) and less time online. Here are some photos of what my personal dogs have been up to!

Meanwhile, Opus's littermate Archie kept hogging the red ribbons at the Carrolltown PA field trials... Today (Oct 20) he was 2nd place field champion dog again! I think there were 12 starters. Someone please remind this dog that we also enjoy blue ribbons 😉🤪

Belated update from September -

Teddy earned his 1st AKC Agility title at the Wine Country circuit! He got his 1st Novice preferred standard leg & finished his Novice preferred FAST title. Both with 1st places (& some competition in standard).

I am so proud of what he and Lynn have accomplished!!

Fancy was 1st of 20 open girls to become FC Lorica's A Little Bit Fancy MW ATT

Fancy is a 5th generation field champion! 4th generation of my own breeding; the 5th generation being my foundation girl, DC Mazey. Wow - I am so proud of her! I can't take much credit, her human mom Danielle gets her out to the field to run rabbits and has her primed & conditioned and ready to run.

I will double check - but I believe offhand Fancy is the 16th Field Champion I have bred.

Welcome to Lorica Dachshunds!

Hi there! We are Jessica & Lorne Campbell and our our kennel name is Lorica Dachshunds. First and foremost, our dogs are part of our family. While we greatly enjoy competing in American Kennel Club and United Kennel Club events with our dogs, they are our personal pets and live in the house with us. The "whole dog" is important to us - we strive to breed healthy, conformationally correct Dachshunds with keen hunting noses, intelligence and trainability (YES, Dachshunds are trainable!) We participate in conformation (dog shows), field trials, earthdog, barn hunt, lure coursing, and obedience/rally obedience in both the AKC and UKC venues. We live with our dogs on 83 beautiful acres in Broome County, part of New York's scenic Southern Tier.
