Meet Sofie!
This adorable girl was one of ten dogs rescued from the shelter before they closed down for Christmas. Sofie has the best attitude, she is always happy, loves other dogs, toys, kids, and doesn't care about cats. She's truly a gem. Sofie is seeking a foster (or adopter) beginning Saturday. Dalmatian mix Yang is seeking her forever family!
While she's been having a blast in foster care, she's ready to settle in with her forever family. Yang is around 8-10 months old, loves other dogs, and all things warm . Yang is super social and an excellent cuddler.

We started 2025 off strong by swooping Dorothy off of the street and teaming up with local rescuers to get her settled into foster care. Dorothy couldn't wait to load up with her rescuers and head to the vet, and then straight into foster care for a nap. We can't imagine the long life of neglect that she has experienced, but she will only know the best from now on! Calling all chiweenie lovers! Short and long Kenny is seeking his forever family! Kenny joined us two weeks ago from an overcrowded shelter and has been loving foster care. He does well with kids, and would love a semi active lifestyle. While he is fostered with other dogs, Kenny doesn't appreciate sharing his human/snacks with other dogs, so he would be best fit being the king of his castle as an only pup.
Kenny is well behaved, crate, and potty trained. He is very young (about 2) and has a mild case of heartworms that we are currently treating (not contagious, and covered by us, don't worry!).
Kenny's adoption fee includes his treatment, neuter, microchip, and current vaccines. He's available within an hour of Boise so that he can easily make it to his vet appointment. Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

We were able to help empty the shelter in Rio Grande City, TX just in time for Christmas! All ten dogs are resting in foster care. Little Cumin from the litter of 3 came down with parvo a couple days after leaving the shelter. She is fighting hard to pull through. Thank you to everyone that donated! If you'd like to donate to them, their wishlist and fundraiser is on their previous post from a few days ago. We hope everyone has a great Christmas and we will be back to doing adoptions on Friday. ❤️💚

Brownie is seeking his forever family. This little German shorthaired pointer mix is under 30 lb and super friendly! Brownie loves other dogs, snuggling on the couch, playing with toys, zooming around, and even watches TV! Everything is brand new to Brownie and he loves adventuring, he has a lot of energy. Handsome Ollie asked Santa for his very own forever family this year.
Ollie is 4 years old, has excellent manners, and has lived with the same family for his entire life up until a few weeks ago 💔
Ollie loves to play with other dogs, he is overjoyed and rolls over when he meets a new friend. He really likes to keep his treats and food to himself though, so he would be happiest living as an only dog. Ollie is wonderful with kids, no kitties for this doll face. Ollie knows basic commands, walks nicely on leash, and enjoys social outings like trips to the hardware store. Ready to make his Christmas wish come true?

When we went to get Sofie, there were two other litters at the shelter that desperately needed help before their euthanasia date (today). Without skipping a beat we left the shelter with 9 extra dogs and have been planning as we go. One, a litter of 3 little girls, and the other, a tired, old, mama Chihuahua now named Ari, and her 5 chiweenie mix babies. The work begins, 9 extra dogs is a lot of supplies. Adorable Moccacino aka Mokie is seeking his forever family.
At 5 months old he is the last of his litter of 9. Mokie loves to play with his foster sibling and take plenty of naps. He is very gentle and sweet. Mokie Is crate trained and mostly potty trained. He does well with all dogs that he's met, cats, and kids. He's current on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered.

Our sweet senior chi Fideo is asking Santa for his forever home for Christmas. Fideo is a big fan of the ladies, he's seeking a new mom with female siblings so that he can continue being the king of his castle 👑

Sweet Sofie kicked off Monday with a second chance!
She was at a rural, overcrowded South Texas shelter up until this afternoon and is headed to join Thelma and Louise in foster care. Sofie will be available for adoption mid January.

Tofu and Skunky arrived along with Bugs and Cardamom (not featured) tonight. They're already getting the hang of life here in chilly Boise, Idaho! Tomorrow they'll be picking out new jackets.

It's $5 Friday and we are turning trash into treasure, but we need your help! Buzz and Aurora were dumped on a rural back road on the outskirts of town before their rescuers, Ramsey and family came to save them. Buzz had what appeared to be the top of a pet food container tightly stuck on his head. He likely got stuck when he was scavenging for food and then maliciously dumped alone with his sister Aurora.
