I have grown sunflowers since I was a young child. Each year I nurtured them and watched them burst into life. But as an artist I never thought to use them for inspiration for my paintings. This year all that changed.
I began the collection by experimenting with vibrant spray painted backgrounds. I had fun splashing, dripping and moving paint around. I felt like a child again. I love how the flowers emerged from the abstract background when I applied the final layer of oil paint.
I have 5 original designs to choose from, each is unique but fits into the suns cycle from dawn to dusk.
