My name is Elizabeth Yanchak and I'm a local college undergrad trying to save enough money to go to vet school and get my DVM! I have been drawing/painting for years and upon leaving highschool have been working with commissions here and there from friends and family who wanted a personalized portrait of their furry friend! How it works:
Contact me here or by email ([email protected]) with a
ny questions or if you are ready to place an order! If you're not sure, send me a few and I can tell you which would make for the best painting/drawing (this is usually what I recommend). I generally like to see multiple pictures to get a better sense of the animal. You then choose whether you want it painted on canvas, in charcoal (black and white) or color (pastel pencils). See my Sample Pieces album to get a feel for what each material looks like. You then choose what size. Standard is 9 x 12. Price:
First off - what you're paying for:
Materials: I buy all of my own materials so cost has been set to cover price of materials (paper, canvas, brushes, pencils, paints, etc)
Time: I usually spend a minimum of 3-4 hours on each piece. Quality Assurance: I work very hard to not just get a likeness of the animal, but to capture subtle (or sometimes not so subtle =p) nuances of the pet's personality. I believe that a portrait should show personality and other relevant traits as well as likeness. Also, If you don't like how it comes out, I'll do it again free of charge! For charcoal and pastel pencils I charge starting at $50. ( + the cost of framing and matting if you choose to throw that in - I do my own matting!)
For paintings I charge starting at $80. (prices increase with size)
I also do require a 50% deposit. Thank you for looking at my page! Hope to hear from you soon!
