Mind your own business and keep your nose out of mine… to the breeder who thinks she needs to be concerned with what’s going on with my business, my life and contacting my customers, she knows who she is!

20/10/2022

I was contacted yesterday by a past customer, they are thinking about rehoming their baby, he’s a little over 2, any of my past customers know anyone that might be interested, if so, send them my way please

I’ve been accused multiple times of stealing a dog, I’ve been trash talked on so many sites I quit counting, let me say this…. I’ve NEVER stole anything in my life!! Anyone who’d like to discuss the matter is more than welcome to message me, I have all the proof showing the dog was given to me, enough so that a legal cease and desist letter was sent to this breeder! I have kept my mouth shut for several years because I don’t like drama but she continues to post about it!! We’ll, I’m sure one of her friends who creeps on my page will send her screenshots of this and I hope so because I can’t tell you how many people I’ve had contact me and ask about her, from literally all over the world and I’m always honest! You never know what kind of a breeder your looking at just from their “perfect” pictures… ask yourself how many dogs a person has to have to be able to have puppies ALL the time, I can answer that… A LOT, it would shock and disgust you! Dapple to dapple breeding is a HUGE no-no, she does it all the time and it’s always “an accident” 🙄, I could go on and on, all I can say is research your breeder HARD!

So excited for these 2 puppies, both went to great homes! I know they’ll be loved to pieces and spoiled rotten!

This post is for our past customers, if you’re interested in adding a dachshund to your family but not wanting a puppy, shoot me a PM, we have some adults we are thinking about rehoming…. NO breeders

I’ve been screaming this from the roof tops for over 10 years!

I saw this comment in a post and I can’t agree more with it! It’s an extremely controversial subject and it’s been discussed many times but I absolutely love how Amber Thomas-Teel stated this!!
PRA occurs in less than 1% of dachshunds. And of that 1%, only 1% actually lose their vision. The test is so inaccurate that most labs have stopped performing it. Testing is a tool. Not all testing is backed by science on the specific breed. In my program, we test for certain traits and genetic mutations when we feel it is necessary, as long as the science is there to "back up" the results.
PRA is a flawed test for gene that MIGHT lead to a gene that MIGHT lead to PRA. The UK stopped testing in 2013 due to testing being deemed ineffectual. Even an affected dog may never get PRA, and a clear dog can get PRA.
PRA can be bred out in 3 generations. Sad to think we would throw away potentially excellent DNA by neutering when there are breeding solutions. So many dogs were culled over PRA testing and sadly we will never recover some incredible bloodlines as a result.
The other issue with PRA testing is that there are over 40 cords and they only test cord 1 and 4. So it’s very misleading for any breeder to claim their dogs are clear, when they are only clear of 2/40 cords.
Plus, what if you test and you have a recessive with both parents?
Only the dominant comes out in the tests.
So, you could have two tested dogs that have a clear screening but if both parents carry a recessive then you end up having it pop up anyway.
I choose to follow the advise of my veterinarian. He has been practicing for over 40 years and has never seen a dachshund develop blindness as a result of PRA. He has seen dogs test positive for being PRA affected, only to have a completely normal examination by an Opthamologist. He does not believe the science is solid on the testing.
We have personally never had a dachshund with vision issues. However if we ever did, vision loss due to a congenital defect would be covered under our health guarantee. If we began seeing this issue in our lines we would make some hard decisions. At this time no such issue has presented itself.
We understand and respect that not all breeders and buyers feel this way about this specific test, and that is there decision to make. Our stance is that we do not speak poorly of anyone who chooses to invest in PRA testing, we just ask for the same courtesy to be shown to our program.
I think there are so many other areas of higher risk that Dachshund breeders should focus on, but instead they tout PRA clear dogs as genetically sound, when that’s absolutely not always the case.

- Had to share ... this is so true.

You who only ask for price and get upset. You have no idea.
You have no idea how hard being a breeder is sometimes.
You have no idea why a puppy costs so much...
- To raise him up for two to three months and to give him to his new home.
Some of them die in your hands.
Sometimes even after sleepless nights or weeks we try everything for a unsuccessful puppy.
You have no idea about the despair that this causes, one loses all his strength, and for a moment he thinks he is not worth it, and thinks that he is giving up everything for a "normal" life, but sees how they look at you and improve day by day They become stronger, they become strong and cheerful dogs.
For you who emphasizes that they have seen them cheaper. "You have no idea. "
-You have no idea the cost of a litter.
No you have no idea when you think it’s just business we live off our dogs.
I correct you, we live by and for our dogs.!
- Not 8 hours of work, then you go home and forget everything.
- Your whole life changes when you decide to become a breeder.
Transform your home that will never be hairless.
Every room of the house will have dog beds and toys.
There will be dog food in the fridge.
The white leather couch, forget it.
If you liked cool sports cars, now you have a pickup with no seats.
Electricity and water bills are increasing.!
You will be a part of whitening, floor cleaner, air freshener and mosquito repellent brands.
You will meet your family and friends less and when you meet them you will surely arrive last because you had to get your dogs sorted before leaving.
-No, we are not easy to understand.
- It’s not easy to understand, to be honest, we put our dogs above everything and at some point we put them in front of everyone.
But we love what we do, and we do it because this is what we put our whole heart into, it cannot be imagined otherwise.
-We do not ask for appreciation, pity or sympathy, but we ask you to Respect what we do and love.!
Thank God, many people appreciate our efforts when a puppy we raised is part of their lives! They appreciate all the work behind this, so they can enjoy it and proudly raise their dog with dedication as a beloved family member.
Thank you :
- to all those who trust a breeder, buy from him and recommend him.
Thank you....
-because - a breeder is happy when they see their happy puppies in their new home!

"I am a breeder.
I don’t want to have a dog.
I want you to have a dog.
So you can enjoy the love of a dog.

I am a breeder and I am proud of this !

How to know if you’re breeder is reputable or if it’s just a business to them:

1. Ask how many litters they have a year, if you think the number is high, ask how many dogs they have (they probably won’t answer but you can give it a shot)

2. Ask for their vet’s info, ask if their vet will know them and their dogs, ask how often their dogs see a vet

3. Ask what their protocol is when they have a female in heat, especially if she’s a dapple, have they ever had a dapple-dapple breeding by accident and if so, how many times

4. Where do they keep their dogs, do they have a nice kennel, stay in the house, etc

5. At what age and size do they breed their females and do they consult their vet first if there’s any question?

6. What do they do about males that fight? Have they ever had males to fight?
