It’s a new year, and it’s time to meet a new member of the Recess4Rover family, Bagel!! This little cutie is still a puppy who happens to be a Cavachon, which is part Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and part Bichon Frise. Whatever he is, Bagel is affectionate, smart, eager to please, and funny! He loves his walks and does pretty good already on leash, but he must be ready to walk or it’s a no go! His lucky pawrents, Beth and Jeremy Williams, provide Bagel with lots of love, and do his human sisters! Bagel doesn’t ever meet a stranger, so it’s been fun walking him around the neighborhood because that way I get to meet some new friends. We welcome Bagel to the Recess4Rover family with open arms!

Happy Howlidays from the one and only Bailey Heatherly!! Oh, how we love this girl! Fun fact: Bailey was our very first client for Recess4Rover. David and I would walk her together for the longest time because we didn’t have any other pups yet. As a matter of fact, her application is dated December 16, 2017!! So happy walk anniversary as well to our precious Bailey!

It is with such sadness that we say goodbye to our Biggie. Biggie was the much loved 14 year old Maltese who belonged to Mallory and Vince VanZile. He was so lucky to have lived in this family. Biggie was cared for unconditionally, especially toward the end of his life, which is when we began coming over to love on him, take him outside for a potty break, and then spend some great hands on time with him! It was indeed our honor and our pleasure to help Biggie and to help stand in the gap while his parents were at work. We will certainly miss him, and we send all of our love and support to his mom and dad as they grieve his loss. Our pets are our family indeed.

It is with great sadness that we let everyone know of the death of one of our liveliest, most fun, and lovable pups, Max Bohannon. It was our great privilege and honor to walk Max and brother, Murphy for almost 5 years until they moved away from Tuscaloosa. Max was always puppy-like: so trusting and energetic, and full of good mischief. We loved walking Max because of the exuberance and the adoration he showed us each and every day. There will never be another Max. All of our love and condolences are sent to Max’s pawrents, Kim and Brad. 🌈

Meet Buster! When we started Recess4Rover 7 years ago, my prayer was that we would be a true blessing to the dogs and their families we serve. This is one of those stories where what we do day in and day out means so much more than just dog walking.

Dave Truhett began walking Buster because the owner was not able to due to some physical and other issues that prevented her from doing that. Having lived a sedentary life hardly ever separated from his mom, Buster was definitely not excited about his daily walks with Dave….. at first. I’ll let Dave take it from here:
“Buster is such a mama’s boy that he basically refuses to walk unless he’s walking toward home. So after at least 6 months of pulling and prodding him, which neither he nor I enjoyed, I FINALLY came up with Plan B! Now Buster happily gets in my car for a 5 or 6 block ride, then we have a pleasant walk back to mama.”

We pride ourselves on going the extra mile (literally sometimes), and looking at Buster’s face, it has definitely worked! Buster’s mom is so very thankful that her boy is getting the exercise he needs and the love he deserves, thanks to Dave’s willingness to go the extra mile! David B. Truhett Cindy Spence Truhett
