Dr. Trenna and Oak demonstrate for us just how quick and easy microchipping is! Most pets don’t even feel it, as it is similar to receiving a vaccine injection. At CVPC, we can microchip your pet at any of our clinic events and at ANY age! 🐾 #ResponsiblePetOwnership #LostandFoundPets
It’s a beautiful day☀️ Come visit us until 4:00pm in south Charlotte or Salisbury!
"Can my kitten go outside if they haven't received all of their vaccines yet?"🐱 Dr. Bob recommends waiting until your kitten has completed their Feline Distemper and Leukemia vaccine series first to ensure they are fully protected. (And this goes for puppies as well!)
Continuing with our series where Dr. Bob answers your frequently asked questions about kitten & puppy care!🩺 We’ve gone over the Core vaccine requirements for cats & kittens, now we will discuss the one Non-core vaccine: Feline Leukemia🐈 The Feline Leukemia vaccine can be started as early as 8 weeks of age and initially requires 2 doses given 3-5 weeks apart. Then again in 1 year and after that, at CVPC, we booster the Leukemia vaccine every 2 years.

"When should my kitten be vaccinated?" As early as 7-8 weeks of age, we can start the Feline Distemper vaccine. It requires monthly boosters until your kitten is at least 16 weeks old. 🐱
Video #1 of Dr. Bob’s Kitten care series!🐱 “What are the core vaccine requirements for kittens?” Core vaccines are vaccines strongly recommended for all cats, whether they are indoors or outdoors. FVRCP (often referred to as Feline Distemper) protects against 3 highly contagious and life-threatening Feline diseases.(4 for kittens- we also include Chlamydophila in their initial vaccine.) The Rabies vaccine is not only recommended, but actually required by law in most states.
Happy New Year from all of us here at CVPC! 🎊 A huge thank you to all of our customers- old and new- for supporting our small business and entrusting us with your pet’s care. We couldn’t do this without you!!
We can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store😄
