New start new vineyard.

We decided to plant the Lefkada variety as it is a sweet variety with a good perspective. Lefkada is a red variety, brought to the island in the Byzantine era, mostly found in the Paphos area (Stroumbi, Polemi) and in the wine villages of Malia and Omodos.
The Lefkada grapes, when matured, produce wines that are quite astringent, with intense colour and a distinctive, fairly strong aroma.

Όταν λεμε βιολογική καλλιέργεια εννοούμε καλλιέργεια χωρίς την χρήση φυτοφαρμάκων και ζιζανιοκτόνων. Αν και χρονοβόρα και ακριβή διαδικασία καθότι χρειάζονται πολλά εργατικά αλλά το αποτέλεσμα είναι σαφώς καλύτερο.
Μετά την κοπή των χόρτων με μηχανικά μέσα, ακολουθεί η καλλιέργεια τους για να ενσωματωθούν τα θρεπτικά συστατικά στο χώμα. Με αυτή την διαδικασία το χώμα γίνεται πιο εύφορο και τα δέντρα λαμβάνουν τα θρεπτικά συστατικά.

Όταν δουλεύεις με την φύση και όχι ενάντια στη φύση αυτή ανταποδίδει.
Ξεκινήσαμε δειλά δειλά το 2014 τους βιολογικούς οπωρώνες ροδιάς, είχαμε όραμα να παράξουμε Χωρίς καμία χρήση φυτοφαρμάκων, Δύσκολο αλλά όχι ακατόρθωτο.
Στην πορεία πάθαμε αλλά μαθαμε. Μάθαμε πως τα αγαθά και καλά πράγματα αποκτιούνται με κόπους. Πολλές φορές σκεφτήκαμε να τα παρατήσουμε, πολλές φορές σκεφτήκαμε να χρησιμοποίησουμε φυτοφάρμακα αλλά μείναμε σταθεροί στην αρχική μας ιδέα, ένα οπωρώνα βιολογικό όπου η σπορά χλωρής λίπανσης θα ήταν η τροφή τον δενδρυλλίων και οι μέλισσες βοηθοί στην παραγωγή.
Πιο κάτω βλέπετε πως είναι ένας βιολογικός οπωρώνας.

Ξεκινήσαμε και εμείς δυναμικά με το κλάδεμα των ροδιων μας. Μια από τ σημαντικότερες εργασίες για να υπάρχει καλή και ομοιόμορφη καρποφορία.
Υπάρχουν δύο βασικά είδη κλαδέματος για την καλλιέργεια της ροδιάς: το κλάδεμα διαμόρφωσης και το κλάδεμα καρποφορίας. Στα νεαρά δενδρύλλια ροδιάς κάνουμε κλάδεμα διαμόρφωσης για να δώσουμε το κατάλληλο σχήμα και να επιταχύνουμε την είσοδο του δέντρου στην παραγωγή. Σε μεγαλύτερα δέντρα ροδιάς, κάνουμε κλάδεμα καρποφορίας για να επιτύχουμε καλή ανάπτυξη και ικανοποιητική παραγωγή, τόσο ποιοτικά όσο και ποσοτικά.
Κατάλληλη εποχή για το κλάδεμα της ροδιάς είναι η περίοδος του χειμώνα, από Δεκέμβριο ως Φεβρουάριο, καθώς αυτή την εποχή το δέντρο της ροδιάς βρίσκεται σε λήθαργο.
