The shelters are full of dogs and they all need homes. The problem is, these dogs have never been rehabilitated. They come to you full of their problems and you are expected to know how to help them. In too many cases they are returned to the shelter, or rescues after the "cute" factor has worn off. With all that I have done nobody has taught me more than the unwanted shelter dogs who have come to me when their bad behavior does not allow them to go to anybody else. These wonderful, simple, beautiful creatures help me to let go of all that we are taught as a human, forget time, and let go of stress. Through body language they help me to remember to calm down and breath. Through listening they too relax and once again become thankful, happy and loving...never holding a grudge from the life they came.

Walking Your Dog When you teach your dog that you are their loving leader, they will naturally choose to follow...becoming the best companion you will ever have. This is why dogs are called "man's best friend"....I have to agree. Maddie came to bootcamp a fearfull girl, pulling and straining on the leash. Now she loves her walks, as she follows my lead with energy's, body movements, and natural conversation on nice loose leash.

Today little Toby worked on his obedience in the hopes he would one day pass the therapy test. We worked on sit, stay, down, stay and come. Down still needs a little work...lol....but when he is this cute he gets an A for effort. Atlas Learning Speak And Pull: Atlas is here for a two week bootcamp to learn service dog tasks to help his mom. Atlas needs to make a noise to alert others in the house if Atlas' owners oxygen tube stops working. The tube will make a clicking noise. Atlas came to me a week ago with no desire to bark or knowledge how to open a door. This week Atlas has been learning to "speak" to the noise of her tube and to pull, in order to one day soon open her bedroom door to alert others. I do not train with treats, so this week Atlas has learnt to become excitable at the noise in order to wake others, bark and pull a toy which will be attached to her bedroom door...simply because he LOVES the game.
