Billy (black) and Maya (tabby) arrived at the end of the week. They had travelled from UK to Larnaca and then we collected them from our colleagues, at Elite Pet Relocation, in South Cyprus. Their owners had arrived the day before so had some time to get settled before Billy & Maya arrived.
We ,and Elite, were surprised at how quiet and calm the cats were. They had boarded with Elite the night before we collected them due to a very late flight arrival and they said there was not a hiss or meow from them. During their transfer from South to TRNC (including their entry checks) they were soo quiet - not a peep from either. We kept checking them as we do - they were fine - just very chilled out !
Once they were home they showed how relaxed they were by both tucking into their 1st TRNC meal and then they began to explore.
The photos were taken just after we had dropped the cats off to Gill.

From TRNC - UK by air - then back to France by sea !! What a journey 2 of our travelling pets had recently.
We had been asked by Janice and Robert to relocate their 2 dogs, Max and Toby, to France. However it then came to light that from France - once everyone had had a little R & R, that Janice, Robert, Max and Toby would be moving onto Jersey.
The discussions between us all were quite lengthy - should we send the dogs to France or would Janice & Robert prefer them to go to UK then Jersey ? During these discussions Janice & Robert moved from TRNC to France. So it was decided that the "boys" would go to France. They HAD to travel to France as a manifest cargo booking due to their box sizes - Toby's was especially tall to take account of those BIG BIG ears !!!
However after hearing back from our Paris clearing agent we were all upset to hear that the French authorities had decided that they would not accept the dogs as a "Manifest Cargo" booking as they would not accept the TRNC official documentation. A response we are hearing more and more. However we hasten to add that it does not appear to be the same policy for pets travelling with their owners from TRNC to France.
Back to the discussion thread again. Finally we had a Plan B - the "boys" would fly (manifest cargo as per the rules) to the UK - once they had completed their UK entry our colleagues, at Animal Couriers, would collect them from Heathrow - get a new EU health certificate issued (needed for all pets without EU Pet Passports going from UK into the EU) - and would then take them over to France delivering them home to Janice & Robert.
This was a long journey for the dogs and Toby in particular was quite nervy. Timings to allow for rest time for them was important.
The "boys" left TRNC on Thursday - arrived at Heathrow on Friday and then arrived home with Janice & Rob on Saturday.
They will spend some quality time in France before moving onto Jersey with Janice & Rob.
We had this message after their arrival home " Hi Kim & Margaret .
They arrived Saturday safe and well and are setleing in well they were both so excited when they arrived .
Thank you for all your hard work organising there travel and the special care you gave them .
With best wishes
Janice Robert Max and Toby. Xx "

We first met Lottie & Oscar 2 years ago when we helped Jane bring them from the UK to TRNC. Jane contacted us again recently to say that the family were moving back to the UK and could we organise Lottie & Oscar's return. Although the dogs had arrived via South Cyprus - it had been explained to Jane (in 2022) that if they were to leave the TRNC they could not travel back into South Cyprus - not even for transit purposes in order to take a flight out.
Jane was aware of that and knew that the dogs would be leaving TRNC with Turkish Airlines and that it involved an overnight stop in Istanbul. Everything was organised and went to plan last week - even down to the delivery service we had arranged to collect Lottie & Oscar from Heathrow and deliver them home to Wales.
Once they arrived Jane reported that they were "happy and chilled".
We bet Oscar is going to miss his Cyprus swimming pool - he loved to jump in at any chance !

We all love a little bit of sunshine - especially warm October Cypriot sunshine.
Ace is no exception (as you can see).
He arrived, with our help, after driving over with his owners from the UK.
We had been discussing his travel plans and detailing the process, paperwork that is required, possible routes, even info about the ferries, for quite a few months with Yeliz & Mustafa as they arranged their travel plans.
Ace arrived the other day into Kyrenia harbour and Yeliz happily reported :
"Thank you so much for all your help.
We have arrived in TRNC all safe and sound. Ace was able to come straight out with us after the vet checked all our paperwork.
You have been an absolute blessing.
Thank you 🙏"

It was not just a Chance meeting at the crossing the other night - it was time to say "welcome back Chance" !
We first met Chance in 2019 when we arranged for his import into the TRNC (via Larnaca). We knew that for Chance, Joy and Rob it was a trial move to see how they all adapted to TRNC life before deciding whether to move over or not.
At the end of their trial period we arranged for Chance to return to the UK in 2020 - hoping to be seeing him once again.
Well Chance has returned (along with Joy & Rob) to begin his (and their) long term life in the TRNC.
Once we had completed his entry process we were pleased to take Chance home where Rob was waiting for him.
Joy let us know that it hadn't taken him long to settle back into his TRNC home.

Kaspar - a sweet Maltese Terrier - is one of our regular travellers coming into the TRNC and then returning after a few months to the UK. He recently flew in, with Turkish Airlines, with his owner Dervise whose feedback (all feedback is so important as it can help other owners) was .....
" All good, Kasper done well
Entrance to Ercan good.
Vet came quickly.
Exit from Heathrow more bit of a faff as no one knew what to do with him!
Asked if he was a service dog :)
Usual fun and games.
Thank you for your help."

Until it is time for you to go back to the UK - Happy TRNC Days Kaspar x - see you in a couple of months Dervise !

Meet Magnus and Toby .... 2 young Maine C**n kittens who we recently helped to relocate to the TRNC.
Maine C**n (also know as Gentle Giants in the cat world) is a v large domesticated cat breed. One of the oldest natural breeds in North America, the breed originated in the U.S. state of Maine, where it is the official state cat. They are an affectionate relaxed cat - making them great as family pets.
Adult males can weigh as much as 10kg.
Magnus and Toby's owner - Gary - kept us updated during his (and the kitties) journey from UK to TRNC.
" Hi........ Just a short update.
Checked in at Edinburgh, Paperwork all good and they are happy.
Both kittens travelling in cabin with me, although they are by no means the size of a regular kitten.
All good so far.
Just the Turkish leg to navigate later tonight"
"
Good Morning, arrived safe and sound.
Couldn't of asked for a better Journey.
Turkish leg was very smooth.
Thank You for the assistance.
Now we have 2 Demons running riot ...))))"

Happy TRNC Days Demons ! X

If we are not posting on here about our traveling pets - please do not think it is because we are not helping any, or are not working - sometimes we just have so much going on with various pets being prepared (paperwork checks, measuring, meetings with owners/vets/airlines etc, organising boxes) and general admin - that we simply do not have time to also post.
We have just run out of time - sorry.
For those owners whose pet's travels we have not featured - we are sorry - but please keep watching !!!

Cookie made us crumble --- we have known Cookie since she was a tiny 8 week old pup. She has always been a real character. So it was with some bitter/sweet sadness this week that we waved Goodbye to her as we set her on her way to Scotland to be reunited with her family Alina, Brian and young Alissa. They had been waiting anxiously back in Scotland for Cookie to join them - but she needed to wait, the post 3 month waiting period, until she was allowed to travel. She was being cared for by Judith and Keith here in the TRNC whilst waiting to be able to travel. There were a few tears as they also said Goodbye to her (from both of them !).
During Cookie travel prep and actual journey we kept them all updated and discussed suitable dates, and flight options, etc.
We were delighted to hear that Brian and Alina were already waiting at Edinburgh after being told of an approx collection time - even more delighted to see their "re union" photo as she jumped into their car to go home - home to Alissa.

Leroy - a little 14 year old cross breed "young at heart" boy - left the TRNC this week. He travelled to Edinburgh and arrived safe and sound. Just 3 hours after his arrival his UK clearance had been completed and he was collected by, our pre arranged pet courier, Mike from Pet Animal Transportation to continue with his journey home to be with Shirley & Terry in Wales.
Throughout Leroys journey we all - us, owners, ADI team at Edinburgh and Mike - kept in touch and gave each other updates.
We feel that this helps owners feel to being a part of their pets actual journey and - if it were our own pets - is something that we would welcome.
Shirley reported back to us " Good morning Kim.
Leroy arrived around 6pm last night with Mike and settled down straight away after exploring the house and garden. He loves our grandchildren and all the attention he's getting from them.He ate a good dinner and settled down.
We all slept well last night and Leroy slept next to me in his new bed and didn't move all night ! Thank you both for getting Leroy back to us safely and all the hard work you put in to make his move possible .Much appreciated."

Happy Welsh Days Leroy x
