Baby Violet finally hit 8 grams! She was 6 when I got her. She's such eats so good -- even her greens! But she was stuck at 6 grams for most of the week. She's such a good girl, likes being held, and is a good hunter. She's just a tiny thing.

Violet reminds me of how tiny Tiny Tim was. But she actually eats on her own and s/he never did. I syringe fed her/him for 9 months which is why s/he hates me. 😬

I think that Tiny Tim is actually ...... a female!!! 😳😬🫣 Maybe that's why I'm hated so badly?! Because I call Tim a "him." 🤷🏽‍♀️ No femoral pores. And sometimes when s/he sees my old man beardie, Crona, s/he does the slow head nod instead head bobbing. 😬

Tillie had her vet recheck today. She's doing much better, but isn't completely healthy yet. She was much more alert for the ride there and even resisted the vet's poking & pulling! The next step is to get X-rays to see what's going on with her joints (this vet doesn't do them same day) and to run a f***l test to rule out parasites.

Tillie has a guarded prognosis for now. Her blood tests showed that her uric acid levels are low which could be due to end stages of kidney failure or it could be that she's too dehydrated & underweight for her kidneys to be working right now. The vet gave her a sub-Q fluid injection to rehydrate her, and she's already looking more alert!

Everyday she's on pain meds, antibiotics (for the swelling), and a nutritional slurry. She'll also get a daily soaking. Recheck in two weeks to see if she's any more mobile and eating better on her own.

At the vet with Tillie. She's in bad shape-- edema (swelling) in all of her limbs, multiple fractures, dehydrated, etc.....

At the vet with Tillie. She's in bad shape-- edema (swelling) in all of her limbs, multiple fractures, dehydrated, etc.. We are going to run some bloodwork on her right now to check for liver and kidney failure. Then the vet will give her fluids and hopefully some pain meds.

I'm waiting to hear back from a local reptile vet on getting her in for some X-rays. Mostly I'm just watching her to see how she moves, how she eats, how she poops, etc. so that I can have a better idea of what she needs next.

It appears that her shoulder joints don't work at all. Like, it looks like her arm bones broke beneath the shoulder joint and never healed. She has very little control over her arms and she can't bend her wrists at all. So that's why X-rays are the next step to see how extensive the damage is to her bones.

Surprise! I came out of retirement to take in this sweet girl who used to have Metabolic Bone Disease. No name yet.

The rescues & shelters were full, and her special needs are a lot to take on for her first rescuer. So here I am with a beardie in a sick tank in my living room so I can watch and see how she does.
•
Her wrists and ankles are hardened and don't bend. I suspect old MBD, but I wonder if she has gout on top of old fractures.
•
Any name suggestions for this girl?
