Little Red

Little Red Little Red is a Vicktory Dog. She was rescued from NFL player Michael Vick's fight ring. She spent 3 yrs in sanctuary at Best Friends prior to her adoption

Little Red was rescued from Michael Vick's notorious dog fighting compound in Virginia in 2007. She spent several years at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in S. Utah where the staff helped her to heal from the years of physical and psychological trauma she suffered at Vick's compound. It is believed that Little was used as a "bait" dog for other fighting dogs to practice on. Her story is told by Jim

Gorant in his compelling book: "The Lost Dogs." Little is no longer lost; she was saved. Love and time have helped to heal her wounds. Little was adopted in September, 2011 and has lived happily with her human Mom and her 5 canine siblings. She has a gentle spirit and she loves other dogs. They are her solace. Little is very shy with new people and places. She still suffers from some of the effects of PTSD based on her years at Vick's Bad Newz Kennels where she was so horribly abused. But she lives her days in the present and she is a happy and healthy girl who loves her life. Michael Vick tried to make Little Red mean. He was not successful. Her gentle and loving nature could not be destroyed and she is a survivor.
