Took the beautiful Pandora for a walk at Many Tears Animal Rescue last week 🐕‍🦺🥰🥰
She is beautiful inside & out.
Pandora has recently been returned to the shelter through no fault of her own.
I hope she gets the home she deserves soon ❤️

🎇🐾 Help Your Dog Through Bonfire Night! 🐾🎇

🎆 Fireworks are beautiful and exciting but they are also stressful for dogs and dog owners!

Here are some ways to help them stay calm and safe this Bonfire Night:

🐾 Desensitise:

Over the next couple of weeks leading up to Bonfire Night, play low volume firework sounds to help your dog get used to the noise (slightly increase volume as days go on)

🐾 Exercise Before Dark:

A tired dog is a relaxed dog! Get a big walk in before fireworks start.

🐾 Create a Safe Space:

Set up a cwtchy, quiet spot where your dog can go to if they feel anxious.

🐾Stay Calm:

Dogs sense your emotions, so if you are calm, they will feel safer.

🐾Use Background Noise:

Play soothing music or put the tele on to help drown out the fireworks. (A couple of radio stations usually put music on for dogs)

🐾Close Windows & Curtains:

Keep out the loud bangs and flashes by shutting windows and closing the curtains.

🐾Calming Products:

Try natural calming sprays, diffusers, or anxiety wraps

🐾 Don’t Leave Them Alone:

Your presence will help reassure them during the fireworks.

🐾Keep Them Busy:

Distract with favorite toys or long lasting treats.

🐾Interactive Toys:

Puzzle toys or treat dispensing balls are good to keep your dog's mind engaged and distracted from the fireworks.

🐾 Lick Mats:

Spread peanut butter or yogurt on a lick mat. Licking can be a calming activity for dogs, keeping them focused and relaxed.

🏔EVEREST BASE CAMP FOR Many Tears Animal Rescue 🏔

In just 6 weeks, I’ll be embarking on the adventure of a lifetime - climbing Everest Base Camp to raise funds for Many Tears Animal Rescue and help care for the beloved dogs this winter. 🐶❄️

With the temperatures already starting to drop, the winter months are fast approaching, making it even more important to support the incredible work Many Tears does.

Every pound raised will go toward keeping the dogs safe, warm, and well-cared for through the colder months.

The journey to Base Camp will be tough. I will be trekking for two weeks at high altitude, battling freezing temperatures, thin air, and the rugged terrain of the Himalayas. But knowing that this challenge will make a difference to so many rescue dogs will keep me going!

I am passionate about this cause, and your support will mean the world to both me and the dogs at Many Tears. 🐾 If you would kindly like to donate or share my story, every bit will make a huge impact!

Volunteered again a couple of weeks ago at Many Tears and met the sweetest pups who had just arrived all the way from Ireland.

They were so scared and exhausted from their journey, sharing one bed for comfort and safety. 🐶🤍 (there were more beds in their kennel but they chose to stay together)

It was heartwarming to see how much they rely on each other for support during this transition.

I am grateful for the moments when I can help them feel safe in their new chapter. 🐾

Back at Many Tears Animal Rescue , and my heart is full once again. 💛

- Volunteering here keeps me just how resilient and loving these dogs are despite everything

- Two sweet pups climbed into my lap, seeking comfort and connection.

- Others are waiting by their gates, looking out with hope in their eyes, dreaming of the day they’ll find their forever homes.

🐶 Bedding (not foam or feather)

🐶 Cleaning materials (bleach, black bags etc)

I will be volunteering at Many Tears, every 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 morning until I leave for Everest Base Camp and I will be happy to take any donations with me to help out.

I have 3 locations around Port Talbot who have kindly agreed to serve as a drop-off point.

🐾 Exciting Changes Ahead: Welcome to Hounds & Hope! 🌍

For the past 3 years, I've had the incredible joy of walking and caring for so many wonderful dogs as The Woof Pack. It's been an amazing journey filled with wagging tails, muddy paws, and endless love. But as life evolves, it's time for a new chapter.

✨ Introducing Hounds and Hope ✨

Why the change? While dog walking will always be a passion of mine I’ve realised that my love for dogs goes far beyond just that.

Hounds and Hope represents more than just a dog walking service. It’s about learning, educating, and giving back to the amazing dogs who touch our lives.

Soon, I will be travelling again but with a mission to learn more about dogs, their needs, and the incredible work being done in rescues both at home and abroad.

My goal is to share this knowledge with you, so we can all be better friends to our canine companions. 🐶

My hope is that Hounds and Hope becomes a place where we can connect, learn, and make a difference in the lives of dogs everywhere—whether it’s through education, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness.

My next post will be about Many Tears Rescue in South Wales and my plan to help raise some money for the dogs in need 🐶
