Nine year ago I decided I couldn’t keep living in active addiction and made the decision to get sober. I quit drinking and partying and never looked back. Today I’m celebrating nine years of being a happier, more whole person who doesn’t need substances to escape her own life. It isn’t always easy but it is always worth it. This is your sign to take control of your life and love yourself the way you’ve always deserved. You can recover and you can thrive.

Hi friends. I wanted to share a few snapshots from the week and give you an update on where we’re at with animal placements. We’re starting to get our heads above water over here. Placing the cows was an incredibly difficult decision but it was both financially responsible and the right thing for them. They deserve 10+ acres of lush pasture and cow pals. I’m so happy for them and for the first time in a long time I’m feeling more relaxed and hopeful in my daily life here. We will be sending our three larger donkey boys and mini mule as a group to the same place in early July so please follow to keep up on their antics. Tasha is a huge donkey lover (who wouldn’t be) and I’m so happy to introduce some new long ears back into her life. I’m so thankful to them for opening their org and hearts to my wonderful kiddos. I can’t wait to visit and bring the boys all the snacks. And to everyone who’s wished us well during this transition—thank you from the bottom of my heart. We have a long ways to go but for now we’re okay.❤️‍🩹

Love isn’t selfish. It demands unconditional compassion and wanting the best for those close to you. I’ve spent the last seven years caring for these three boys. They were with me from the very beginning—before we even knew what this place would become. I’ve loved them for their entire lives and because of that I want nothing more than a beautiful and exciting life for them. ⁣
⁣
They went to their new home yesterday. It’s one of the most beautiful properties I’ve ever seen. They have ten acres of lush pasture and three new cow friends! The team at have been nothing short of loving and supporting during this transition period. Everyone was so excited to meet the boys and get cow kisses. ⁣Please follow them to see updates on the boys and their new pals.

This morning has been pretty rough without them but I am so happy for them. They deserve the absolute best and I’m so thankful to have a community of rescue friends who want that for them also. Thank you for supporting us and making it possible for us to keep going. I am so grateful.❤️

Hi friends. I’m just checking in to say I’m doing okay and this week we are starting the process of deciding which animals we need placement for. This whole situation is so difficult but I’m finding some peace in knowing that everyone is safe and will be loved and cared for. ⁣

I’ve given the last seven years of my life to this place and I’m hopeful that getting our numbers down to a sustainable place will allow me to continue this work. The future is full of unknowns though and so I’m just taking it one day at a time and releasing myself from expectations. I will always do what is right for the animals so one way or another it will be okay. ⁣

Lastly, I wanted to give my most heartfelt thank you to everyone who has shown up for me and the animals this past week. I’m still feeling pretty raw emotionally but knowing that you all care so much has made a massive difference. Love you all.❤️‍🩹

The animals have been glued to me the past few days. It’s a true testament to how connected we are and how deeply they feel. I’m working through some really tough choices this week and I appreciate everyone’s patience while I figure out what we need. I’ll be organizing all the emails offering volunteer help and animal placement— and getting back to everyone. I just need to wait for our lead caretaker to come help me get those thoughts untangled from my mind. The cows are going to their new home on the 21st. Please follow and give them your support also. There will likely be several more of our animals going to live there later this summer. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has shown up for me and the animals this week. It’s uncomfortable, messy and sad but I would be absolutely lost to the void without all of you. Your support saves lives—theirs and mine. Love you friends.❤️‍🩹

🚨URGENT HELP NEEDED🚨⁣⁣

This is horrible and I’m having the hardest time being vulnerable right now so please be gentle with me. We are in crisis mode. I am so far from being okay and the animals are at risk of losing their home. I have two significant injuries that are prohibiting me from being able to do the amount of labor required of me and even more significantly—we are now without any additional income. If you’ve been following us for several years you know that I’ve already been through this. Losing a partner is horrible enough but when it means your ability to feed yourself and the rescued animals is also in danger, things get dark quickly. ⁣⁣

I am so thankful for everyone who cares about my life along with theirs. I’ve spent the morning talking to the crisis center workers because so many of you are worried that I may hurt myself. My depression is absolutely dangerous right now and I genuinely am so grateful to whoever called them to come out here. Mental health is such a hard thing to talk about and I’m glad I can share that here.

⁣⁣Here is what we’ve been able to figure out so far. We need to find homes for roughly half of our animals to be able to survive off our monthly Patreon support. This will allow us to need less staffing and it will significantly lower our feed/medical bills.

Our greatest need is placement for pigs and sheep. Tasha from absolutely saved my life earlier when she offered to take my three precious cows. They will be going to live at their sanctuary in the next month or two. ⁣⁣This is absolutely breaking my heart but I have to do right by these animals and I need to save my own life in the process.

We will need more funding to get us through the next three months. Joining Patreon is the most valuable thing anyone can do for us right now.⁣⁣Please give any small amount you’re able to and share this post. I will truly need every ounce of support possible to get through this.
