November has been a rough month for funding y’all. I’m tired of asking for help and I’m sure everyone else is too. But that’s my most important job—caring for these kiddos and making sure they are warm and have full bellies is my biggest priority. I’ve been living off ramen all week with no complaints because they will always come first.

I’ve cried more in the past 24 hours than I can stand. Parker is comfortable in his stall but he’s still unwilling to stand for more than a few minutes and it takes a lot of prompting to get him to do so. My poor baby is still mentally there but his body is failing him and it’s breaking my heart. The grief is overwhelming and it seeps into every corner of my life. I can’t eat or sleep. I have terrible dreams about losing him. Nobody prepares you for the amount of loss and suffering you will experience in rescue and no matter how many times I go through it, each one feels like salt in a wound that will never heal.
We have just a few days to see if his higher dose of meds will help him and then our vet will be out to discuss any other options. I am so scared of what that day might look like. We need your help to get through this. If you’re in a position to throw a few bucks his way, it would make a huge difference in alleviating the stress we’re under while we fight to save his life.💔😔

Penny is one lucky lady to have survived not only a drug bust and seizure of the property she was being kept on, but she was also being argued over by the neighbors for who would get to slaughter her in the coming days afterwards. We took the largest hit ever this month is cancelled Patreon subscriptions and I’m scrambling to figure out what we are going to do. As of this morning we are down $975 and the numbers will keep updating throughout the day. This is devastating for our already small budget. A thousand dollars is two weeks worth of hay. It’s an emergency vet visit. It’s crucial funding that we cannot afford to lose.
Please help us recover some of those losses. Sanctuary life is hard enough without the constant worry of how to pay the next bill. Parker will be 9 years old in just a few weeks. Penny will be 5. For large breed farm pigs this is unheard of outside of a sanctuary setting. Both of them are unbelievably lucky to be living a life full of friendship and never ending autumn apple snacks. This is the life I so desperately want for all farmed animals but especially for pigs. They are so incredibly intelligent and sensitive. More so than any animal I’ve ever met. More than most people too! I hope that someday everyone has the chance to meet a pig that will change the way they look at their meals. Loving a pig changed my life and made Morningside what it is today. Wispy boy is starting to play and explore the bathroom and it’s making my heart absolutely burst with joy. This tiny angel was brought to the property but a neighbor last night after being found unresponsive and very sick. He is likely around 5 weeks old but is weighing in far below the normal range for that age. He’s already feeling much less crummy after getting cleaned up and started on antibiotics but it’s going to be a long few weeks until he’s healthy enough to be adoptable.
