Most of you have probably seen this, but it’s worth mentioning the changes again.

The new GDT test is a great stepping stone for dogs and handlers that are looking to improve their skills once they’re beyond the NA level. Check out the details here.

At the 2025 NAVHDA International Meeting, Director of Judge Development, Mark Whalen, introduced the new Gun Dog Test (GDT), replacing the UPT.

The GDT criteria are posted on the NAVDHA website, new score cards are being printed and the changes are effective 1 Feb 2025.

Summary of changes (UPT to GDT)
• Duck Search removed
• Decoys added at water
• Clarifying language for retrieves

Judges should reach out to the J&T committee or the central office with questions.

Our 2025 Steadiness Class is coming up!

This class will teach the foundations needed to establish "Whoa" and Steadiness to Wing. This class is 4 weeks and the cost is $100. Training birds available for purchase.​ Start Date is Friday February 14th at 6pm
