Rotary Club of Amman West proudly completed the Art Room Renovation Project at Al Raja’a School for the Deaf in Ruseifeh, a component of the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), in collaboration with the Life Association for the Rehabilitation and Care of the Disable مدرسة الرجاء للصم
This vibrant and inspiring space now enables Deaf students to freely express their creativity and nurture their artistic talents. 💙
The project was made possible thanks to the collective efforts of club members, volunteers, and the dedicated support of the Life Association, headed by Dr. Iyasa Abbadi, which coordinated with the Ministry of Culture and engaged volunteer artists to mentor and inspire the students.
Together, we continue to prove that service above self brings color, hope, and opportunity to every community. 🌍✨

يفتخر نادي روتاري عمان غرب بإنجاز مشروع تجديد غرفة الفن في مدرسة الرجاء للصم في الرصيفة، إحدى مؤسسات الصندوق الهاشمي الأردني للتنمية البشرية (جهد)، وبالتعاون مع جمعية الحياة لتأهيل ورعاية المعوقين.
تحوّلت الغرفة إلى مساحة نابضة بالحياة والإلهام، تتيح للطلاب الصم التعبير بحرية عن إبداعهم وتنمية مهاراتهم الفنية. 💙
وقد تم تنفيذ المشروع بفضل الجهود الجماعية لأعضاء النادي والمتطوعين، وبمساندة جمعية الحياة برئاسة الدكتور إيسار العبادي، التي نسّقت مع وزارة الثقافة واستقطبت متطوعين من الفنانين التشكيليين لتدريب الطلبة ودعم طاقاتهم الإبداعية.
معاً نثبت أن الخدمة فوق الذات تزرع الأمل والألوان في حياة من حولنا. 🌍✨

استقبل أعضاء نادي روتاري عمان غرب محافظ المنطقة الروتارية 2452، السيد بيتر أشجيان، خلال زيارته إلى مدرسة الرجاء للصم في الرصيفة، وهي إحدى المؤسسات التابعة لـ الصندوق الهاشمي الأردني للتنمية البشرية (جهد)، حيث شهد المحافظ اكتمال مشروع تجديد غرفة الفن الذي نفذه النادي و مشروع نادي الأطفال الذي نفذه نادي روتاري عمان البتراء – نادي الأطفال (مشروعان متميزان. رافق المحافظ في زيارته كل من نائب المحافظ الدكتورة لينا كارا والمساعد المحافظ المهندس سهيل السلطي.
أعربت مديرة المدرسة، السيدة حنان المغربي، ومدير تطوير الأعمال في جهد الدكتور سمير عطار، عن خالص تقديرهما لكلا الناديين على هذه المبادرة المتميزة، ووصفتا المشروع بأنه خطوة نوعية أسهمت في تطوير البيئة التعليمية داخل المدرسة. وأشارت السيدة حنان إلى أن غرفة الفن الجديدة أصبحت مساحة نابضة بالحياة، تتيح للطلبة الصم التعبير عن إبداعاتهم وتنمية مهاراتهم الفنية بحرية وثقة.
وأشادت السيدة حنان بالجهود المشتركة لأعضاء الناديين والمتطوعين وجمعية الحياة لتأهيل ورعاية المعوقين، مؤكدة أن التعاون بين المؤسسات المحلية والدولية يشكل ركيزة أساسية في تمكين الطلبة ذوي الإعاقة السمعية أكاديمياً واجتماعياً.
كما أوضحت أن الجمعية الحياه، برئاسة الدكتور إياس العبادي، ساهمت بفاعلية في دعم المشروع من خلال التنسيق مع وزارة الثقافة واستقطاب متطوعين من الفنانين التشكيليين للمساهمة في تدريب الطلبة ودعم قدراتهم الإبداعية.
وفي لفتة إنسانية مؤثرة، قدّم أحد الطلبة لمحافظ الروتاري قطعة فنية من عمله كرمز للتقدير والامتنان لدعمه وتشجيعه المستمر.

The members of the Rotary Club of Amman West headed by VP Ala Haddad welcomed District 2452 Governor Peter Ashdjian .ashdjian during his visit to Al Raja’a School for the Deaf in Ruseifeh, a component of the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD).
During the visit, DG Ashdjian witnessed the successful completion of two key initiatives — the Art Room Renovation Project implemented by the Rotary Club of Amman West and the Petra Children’s Club launched by the Rotary Club of Amman Petra.
The Governor was accompanied by Deputy District Governor .karaa Lina Karra and Assistant Governor Eng. Suhail Salti.
Headmistress Mrs. Hanan Mugharbi and JOHUD Business Development Director Dr. Sameer Attar expressed their heartfelt appreciation to both clubs for this remarkable initiative, describing it as a transformative step toward enhancing the school’s learning environment.
Mrs. Hanan noted that the newly renovated Art Room is now a vibrant and inspiring space that allows Deaf students to freely express their creativity and develop their artistic skills.
She praised the collective efforts of the club members, volunteers, and the Life Association for the Rehabilitation and Care of the Disabled, emphasizing that collaboration between local and international organizations plays a vital role in empowering students with hearing disabilities both academically and socially.
She also highlighted the contribution of the Life Association, headed by Dr. Iyasa Abbadi, which actively supported the project by coordinating with the Ministry of Culture and engaging volunteer artists to mentor and inspire students with disabilities.
In a touching gesture, one of the students presented DG Ashdjian with a handmade piece of artwork as a token of gratitude for his encouragement and support.

🎉 Making Art Accessible! The Al Raja'a School Art Room Transformation is Complete! 🎉

The Rotary Club of Amman West is thrilled to announce the successful renovation of the Art Room at the Al Raja'a School for the Deaf مدرسة الرجاء للصم in Ruseifeh! 🎉 Today the room was delivered with the attendance of President Hisham Hawari .
This project began with a simple goal: to support and empower these amazing Deaf students by supplying essential art materials. With It quickly grew into a full-scale renovation, coordinated and supported by our dedicated members, volunteers, and the wider community including جمعية الحياه لتأهيل ورعاية المعوقين
This new Art Room is more than just a space—it’s a vibrant place where students can freely express their creativity and develop essential skills. the Art Room is fully equipped with all the necessary tools and supplies, enabling the students to practice their creative and expressive activities.
This distinguished initiative doesn't just provide a stimulating environment; it opens the door for students to discover and refine their talents, which positively impacts their morale and academic achievement

Last week members of Rotary Amman West President & members visited with Gift of Life Amman (GOLA) as they completed its 42nd joint mission of operations for children with congenital heart defect surgeries, mending little hearts in cooperation with the valuable partners the London-based Chain of Hope (COH), Riley Hospital for Children from Indiana and Al Khalidi Medical Center, Dr Khaled Salaymeh, Gift of Life Indiana, The Josh Lindblom Foundation and Rotary Club of Greenfield.

10 surgeries were performed by the Riley hospital team headed by Dr. Mark Turrentine, a pediatric cardiac surgeon at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, USA .
Also Dr Khaled Salaymeh, our pediatric cardiologist consultant performed 4 Cath interventions and supervise and accompany our little hearts before, during and after the surgeries. ...

The Rotary Club of Amman West yesterday joined fellow Rotary Clubs of Amman Petra, Jordan River, Philadelphia, Ammon, and Citadel for a special evening with thePolitical writer and novelist Ramadan Rawashdeh gave a lecture titled "The Role of Culture in Promoting Jordanian National Identity" at the Grand Hyatt hotel on Monday evening.

During his talk, Rawashdeh emphasized the critical need to strengthen the values of Jordanian national identity and true citizenship among the new generation. He highlighted the importance of understanding and appreciating the history of Jordan and its people, from the revolutions against the Ottoman Empire to the establishment of the modern state in 1921. He also spoke about the sacrifices made by the Hashemites, Jordanians, and the Jordanian army in defense of the country's security and stability, as well as the Arab identity of Palestine.

It was an insightful evening that brought together a wonderful group of Rotarians for a meaningful discussion.

Twinning of the Rotary Clubs of Amman West - Jordan and Vila Nova de Gaia - Portugal in Deir Alla, Jordan

Deir Alla, Jordan - On April 11, 2025, Rotary Club of Amman West held a special event to celebrate the twinning of Rotary Club of Amman West District 2452 - Jordan and Rotary Club de Vila Nova de Gaia District 1970 - Portugal. This event was hosted by PP. Muhsen Mufleh at the family farm in Deir Alla- Jordan. The celebration was attended by *Past District Governor (PDG) & District 2452 Governor representative for Jordan Bashar Haddad*, in addition to members alongside their families and friends from both clubs. This marked a significant milestone for both clubs as they officially signed a Twin Club agreement.
The central aim of this partnership is to cultivate strong friendly relations and foster mutual understanding between the two clubs. Through their joint efforts as Rotarians, both clubs aspire to contribute to the prosperity of Jordan and Portugal, while upholding the
goals of Rotary International. The agreement outlines a commitment to undertake at least one joint project annually or actively participate in each other's initiatives, contingent upon timely planning and mutual agreement.
During the ceremony, exchange of presents and flags further solidified the bond between the two clubs.
The historic signing ceremony was a testament to the dedication and vision of the leadership from both sides. Representing the Rotary Club of Amman West was President Nader Khoury for the Rotary Year 2024-2025 and President elect Maha Qubain for 2025-26; signing on behalf of the Rotary Club de Vila Nova de Gaia were their President for 2024-2025, P. Filomena Frazão de Aguiar and President-Elect for 2025-2026, P.E. Maria Lima.
This newly established Twin Club relationship promises to open doors for collaborative
projects, exchange of ideas and strengthening the bonds between Rotarians from different cultures. The celebration served as a fitting backdrop for this momentous occasion, highlighting the potential for positive impact and shared purpose between the Rotary Club of Amman West and the Rotary Club de Vila Nova de Gaia.

🌙💙 The Rotary Club of Amman West brought smiles and joy to over 40 orphans at the Islamic Charity Society with our annual Iftar, led by President Nader Khoury and supported by dedicated members. The children enjoyed a delightful evening filled with food, gifts, and the warmth of friendship.
A heartfelt thank you to all the amazing volunteers who made this special occasion possible.
