Day 8 of the Nasi // Tribe of Menashe
This one goes out to the Fearless Fallers, the ones who know that falling is not a failure but rather the only way in which we reach new heights. To the fallers who have learned how to be comfortable in the uncomfortable. The risk-takers who fearlessly continue to take risks. The babies who take steps towards their parents' outstretched hands, only to fall again and again, only to get up and keep trying again and again. The ones who can admit their short-comings in the advent of becoming better humans. The ones who descend in order to ascend. The ones who, to the undiscerning eye, are "all over the place," but who are the ones who are FLYING through life. Fearless. Trusting. Going to get what they came here for.
Menashe, whose name means holy "forgetting," because in order to risk the next fall, you kind of have to forget a little bit how bad the last one hurt. Because in order to become the best you can be, you kind of have to forget the voice in your head that's telling you you will never get there. Menashe, the tribe of the month of Cheshvan, the month which seems "forgotten" about because it's the only one without any special days -- but is actually reserved for a new holiday which will take place with the coming of Mashiach.
Menashe, the letters of whose name permute to spell Neshama // Soul. So this one goes out to the Menashe's amongst us -- to you we are forever grateful for inspiring us to have the courage to listen to the voice of our soul, which pushes us off the cliff in order to discover the use of the burden on our back called WINGS.
