Southern Ohio Quarter Pony Association We are about horses, fun, family and friends. We have something for everyone! We hold a series of shows and offer year end awards.

Southern Ohio Quarter Pony Association

The SOQPA is a charter club of the National Quarter Pony Association. Our shows aren't just for people who enjoy showing American Quarter Ponies! We have open classes for both youth and adults so the whole family can show together! Year end awards now extend to our open classes as well. Classes We Offer:
* Halter Classes: Mares, Geldings; & Stallions

* Showmanship & Horsemanship: 8 & Under, 18 & Under, 19 & Over, Generation Horsemanship (13 Years Between Riders)
* Beginner's Classes: Leadline 6 & Under, Walk-Trot 8 & Under, Walk-Trot 9 & Over
* Pleasure: 19 & Over, 18 & Under
* English: Showmanship, Equitation, Pleasure, & Jumping
* Performance Events: Western Riding, Egg & Spoon, Reining, Trail, Pleasure Driving
* Contesting: Poles, Barrels, Flags, Down & Back, Speed-Ball

What Do We Have For You
* Place for all family members to show
* A place to show your registered Quarter Pony
* Most classes offered are eligible for NQPA & AQPA pts
* A place to show your Open horse.
* Year-end award banquet & year-end awards

Show Eligibility:
* Any NQPA, or AQPA registered pony is eligible
* Any AQHA registered horse measuring between 48” & 58” after inspection.
* Unregistered Quarter-Type ponies must meet the following guidelines:
o Pony must measure 48”-58”
o Pony must exhibit Quarter-Type characteristics
o Ponies exhibiting Pinto, Paint, Appaloosa, or gaited characteristics are not eligible
o Must be inspected by two (2) approved inspectors
* Open classes are open to ANY breed of horse!

Year End Awards!

The following members qualified for year-end awards and the shopping has begun! Hoping to see everyone at the banquet on December 8th at Shriners Hall, Circleville, OH. (details to be announced soon)
Since we do our best to make sure your awards are just what you are hoping for, (within the budget) please submit your Wish List as soon as possible and be specific about size and color where applicable.

Hope to see everyone at our final show of the season! Reminder this show is double season points!

***Trail Patterns have been revised for this show***

We will, once again, be running Trail classes in a separate area. Trail will be at-will and will start at 10:00 am. This saved a lot of time at the last show and allows us to continue offering these popular classes.
*Entries for Trail will close at 9:30 am. Please pre-enter or plan your arrival accordingly.
*If the same horse/rider is showing in both the Open and NQPA division of Trail classes, you will only have 1 run but your score will count for both classes.
*Contest exhibitors: we will allow time for you to complete your patterns but you must let our Trail people know your intentions. Please make sure all tack/attire is appropriate for the Trail class.

Apologies for the delay as we finished another awesome show at Bob Evans Farm on the 17th and only had a couple days to wrap up and head to NQPA Futurity

Updates - August 17th show

*Pre-entries are open for our show Saturday at Bob Evans Farm

*We will have concession Stand on site. Please support our local 4-H club!

* Trail exhibitors: All Trail classes will start at 11:00 am sharp and will be held in a separate area during Contesting.
Entries for Trail must be made by 10:30 am so we can have class sheets ready. Once at-will judging begins, you will not be able to enter any Trail class so please pre-enter or plan your arrival time accordingly.
Patterns will run at-will but you must check in at the gate and go in the order you check in. We will have a whiteboard so you will know your place in line and we can relay your exhibitor number and class/pattern to the judge.
If you are also running Contest classes, we will allow time for you to complete your Patterns before we move to Ground Roping and Halter classes but you will need to let our gate people know your intentions (There will be no make-up session later in the day)

August 17th The Bob Evans Farm Show is up next. There are very few stalls and mostly primitive camping. It's a one day show, so we hope it is not an inconvenience. 791 Farmview Lane, Rio Grande Oh. Kay Tracy is our judge. We hope to have you join us for a day of horses, and fun!
CONTESTERS. PLEASE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE ONLINE ENTRY DISCOUNT. WE WILL OPEN THE ENTRY BOOTH AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. THE QUICKER WE CAN GET ENTRIES DONE. THE SOONER THE SHOW BEGINS.

It has come to our attention that there are questions about available camping at the Bob Evans Farm. Please contact us, not the restaurant in Rio Grande. Unfortunately, there are very few electric hookups, and camping is primitive. Thank you.
