Theia had a great weekend at Erie Shores KC!
Theia started the weekend off with a bang and wins the Chinese Crested Club of Ontario Specialty and to top off the weekend was awarded a big Group 2nd at the Toy Dog Club of Ontario! Thank you judge Randy Garren for both wins!
She also made the final cut at the best of Specialties late Sunday night!
Beyond proud of her accomplishments thus far. Thank you Rebecca for loving, showing and training her to perfection!

And then there were 5… Pink went home this weekend, and so did Red boy. It’s funny how much quieter it is here already.
💖 Reminds me of her great grandmother 💖
No… they’re not any trouble at all. 🤣
Sage is an excellent and patient mom, she teaches her babes respect and manners in a kind way. Soon the babies were off playing on their own while she continued to chew the bone.
More morning fun with some time outside when we can beat the heat.
The important things… puppies get outside time before the heat sets in.
Old lady and young lady having some fun. These two never stop, they’re besties. 🥰
Introducing puppies to some new random noises today. Nobody really cares. 🤣🤷♀️
Red got to visit with us while Kelly, Boots and the puppies were here. We set up her own place where our dining room is so she could hang out with everyone and, of course, she got her own time with us. Her favorite thing was having playtime with G’Pa. Pure joy!
Another thing important to building sound minds is exposure to noise. Many dogs are not exposed to sudden and/or unusual noise early enough in life and can end up hypersensitive to sounds like storms and fireworks. This can create very stressful and even dangerous times for both dog and owners when these events happen.
Here we try to help get a head start on noise exposure by playing sounds the puppy will commonly experience at one time or another, such as thunder and lightning, planes, trains and construction sites. We use sound clips played randomly, and at different volumes around the house to do this. Here is a video where the puppies went to sleep with a thunderstorm playing.
We do this at times where the brain is still myelinating to imprint calm associations to the sounds. Followed up with positive socializing in noisy environments, pets stand a significantly greater chance of developing stability, and confidence in all kinds of noisy environments.
