Adoptable animals' profiles are updated regularly so if you see an animal on one of our sites, we are still accepting adoption applications for him/her. This 19-month-old Husky mix is Luka. Through no fault of his, Luka was surrendered to our rescue when his previous adopters decided they did not have the time to devote to a young puppy’s needs. Luka is approximately 20 months old, weighs 45 pounds, happy, eager to please, learning commands, crate and leash trained and excited to be part of his humans’ lives. He enjoys long walks, cuddles, other dogs, car rides and just about anything his foster family gets involved with. Luka is neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on core vaccines and monthly preventatives. Reading about Luka does not do him justice – you really need to meet this amazing pup.

Luka is excited to let you know he will meet you at the Piscataway PETCO, (1330 Centennial Avenue, Piscataway, NJ) this Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 11am to 1pm where you will see what an amazing pup he truly is.

Howdy, partners! We’re fixin’ to round up 30 retired research beagles over the next 30 days or so… Whoa, Nelly! But we can’t get them to greener pastures (AKA forever homes) without your help—we need you fine folks to take the reins and foster these young puparoos! When it comes to fostering, whether it’s your first time at the rodeo, or you’re a seasoned pro that took a hiatus but has a mind to come on back down to the ranch, or even if you’ve got some room to spare around your campfire and are looking to foster-to-adopt, we’d be much obliged! The Happy Paws Rescue general store will provide all the supplies and chow you need; we just need you to open up your hearts and homes (on the range or otherwise!) for these sweet pups to hunker down in for a couple of weeks. So don’t dilly-dally, time’s a wastin’! Join or get more information about our foster volunteer posse by emailing [email protected]. If you can’t foster or adopt, we can still be in cahoots to help these pups—we tip our hats to you for sharing this post far across the tri-state range. Yippee ki-yay! (PS—We bet our boots that you’ve guessed the naming theme for these little doggies by now! 😉🤠)

This very sweet small (45 lb.), 18-month-old bundle of energy charming young Husky mix is Luka and he is looking for the family of his dreams. Luka is happy, friendly to humans and other dogs, eager to please puppy at heart. A typical Husky, he has boundless energy and loves to play and go for long walks and car rides. Luka loves to love and be loved by his foster parents but can become vocal when left alone. He is doing very well with house and leash training and enjoys the company of another dog. Luka’s ideal adopter has another dog, is home during the day and is patient and willing to work with him. Luka will require a free-standing home with a totally fenced in yard where he can exhaust some of his energy. His adoptive family should not have any young (less than 10 years) children and should be willing to engage Luka in long walks and play activities. Luka is neutered and current on his core vaccines.
