Julie offers one-on-one lessons as well as clinics and retreats, and she is dedicated to helping her students and their horses. When a horse's thought is more important than the rider's thought, resistance builds. When there is clarity in what a horse is being asked, a horse can learn to let go of a thought – to relax and submit willingly to a rider’s direction. When the horse is not resisting, mu
scles can relax and stretch, allowing the horse’s overall development and balance to occur naturally. Julie applies this philosophy to her approach to horsemanship.

Two clinic spaces just opened up in June due to cancellation. One in the June 11th Intensive Clinic and the other in the June 28th Three Day Clinic - both in Fort Jones. Almost every clinic for the rest of the year is full, so here’s your chance to get some time in with Julie this summer! Mill Creek Ranch also happens to just be a beautiful setting to relax and enjoy some horse time. All ages and experience levels of horse or rider are welcome.

Julie will be arriving in Fort Jones for the summer schedule soon! Most rider spaces full, but you can call the host of each clinic to be on the wait list and auditors are always welcome. If you get a chance to audit an intensive, it’s a great opportunity to watch Julie work horses all day.

Thank you Camelot Equestrian Park for welcoming us for a wonderful two weeks! Both of our clinic groups had a great time and we got to work on a wide variety of things with our horses - great having a facility with so many options!

It was quite a week - wind, sunshine, torrential rain, hail and finished off week one at Camelot Equestrian Park with a beautiful day! The stormy day gave us an opportunity to work on rope work, reins, feel, seat and balance and a variety of other horsemanship and riding related things without our horses which can be really helpful in letting the rider figure out feel and timing without having to worry about taking care of their horse. Week 2 starts at 8 am on Wednesday morning!

Starting next week - Julie Carpenter will be at Camelot Equestrian Park for two clinics - May 1-5 and May 8-12. General all around horsemanship with an emphasis on getting the horse’s thoughts with you and helping your horse to become calm, confident, relaxed and responsive in any discipline or situation. Rider spaces are full, but auditors are welcome. $25/day or $100 for 5 days. Being a lunch and all your horse training questions. Starting at 8 am daily. Julie Carpenter, "Horsemanship from the Heart" will be back in Washington for a 5-day Horsemanship clinic at Ride-N-Shine Farm in Bothell (5425 W Interurban Blvd, Bothell, WA 98012). Clinic goes from Saturday March 30th until Wednesday April 3rd. 8:30-5:00 each day. The clinic is full but auditors are welcome. $25/day, cash or check made out to Jennifer Duncan. We had a great weekend at Jessie’s- perfect weather, nice changes in horses and people and some great discussions. “I wonder” was a phrase that came up a bit in wondering how long it might take for something to change in how the horse is feeling or responding in a lot of places. Mindfulness, clarity and boundaries were the key words for a good part of the clinic also. Is there a key word or idea you’ve really been thinking about in relation to your horsemanship lately?
