Niagara Dog Rescue is a volunteer-based registered charity, helping homeless unwanted dogs. We a foster based rescue.

This means we do not have a facility, dogs are pulled from shelters and put in to comfortable homes until they are adopted. We need fosters in Niagara Region or West GTA to love and care for the dogs we rescue until they are adopted. Each foster volunteer allows us to save one more dog and help him/her find a loving forever home. Fostering is ideal for families considering adoption but who are not

yet sure. Fostering provides them an opportunity to get to know the dog and how s/he fits in the family. This allows them to make an informed decision about a long-term adoption.

🐾 Meet Rinda — a stunning 6-year-old Jindo mix with a heart ready to bloom! 🐾

In March 2021, WEACT received a heartbreaking tip about dogs dying at . When rescuers arrived, they found 12 severely neglected dogs — and thanks to incredible volunteers, all 12 were saved, along with 3 nearby strays.
✨ Rinda was one of them. After years of suffering, she finally stepped out of that dark place and into a world filled with hope.
Today, Rinda is a cheerful, loving, energetic girl who’s eager to experience all the good life has to offer. She thrives with at least two daily walks, space to run around, and a cozy home where she can relax afterward. With steady love and encouragement, Rinda will adjust beautifully and show you her sweet, loyal nature.
Rinda is searching for a family who will help her enjoy life to its fullest — a family who will love her, keep her safe, and watch over her day and night. ❤️

Meet Frisbee 🐶✨ —an adorable 8-month-old Potcake with a soft tan coat, bright eyes, and a heart full of potential. Frisbee is the perfect medium-sized companion—big enough for adventure, small enough for couch cuddles 🛋️💛.

Frisbee grew up in a busy sanctuary environment, arriving there as a young puppy. Because he shared his space with lots of other dogs, he can be a little shy at first—he’s used to seeing everyone get attention all at once! But once you give him a moment to warm up, his sweet, cheerful personality shines through. He loves people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs 🐕, and is always ready for gentle affection.

This boy is still learning the ropes of home life. With his eager-to-please attitude, he’ll pick things up quickly in a patient, structured environment.

Frisbee would thrive in a home with a yard to explore and, ideally, another friendly dog to help him build confidence and show him how wonderful family life can be 🐶.

🎤🐾 Elvis has entered the building… and he’s ready to rock your world!

This 1-year-old Boxer mix is tan, white, and 46 lbs of pure goofy charm. He arrived shy and skinny, but now? He’s a certified cuddle monster, toy-sharing king, and part-time comedian who thinks every car ride is a VIP tour bus experience.

He’s great with dogs, cool with cats (he backs off when they give him the look), house & crate trained, and walks on leash like he’s strutting down the red carpet.

Yes, he might try to “sample” food from other bowls (artists get hungry), and he’ll need a little patience while he warms up — but once he trusts you, he’s all wiggles, silliness, and loyalty.

🐾 Meet Pudgy!

Pudgy may be small in size, but he’s got a heart—and a personality—that’s larger than life! This cheerful 7-month-old Royal Bahamian Potcake had a tough beginning, found as a stray puppy on the streets of the Bahamas. Despite his rocky start, Pudgy hasn’t lost an ounce of joy. Every day is an adventure to him—whether he’s racing around the yard, playing with other dogs, or showing off his favorite stuffed toy that he proudly carries everywhere he goes.

Playful and curious, Pudgy loves to run and explore outdoors, making a fenced yard ideal for his zoomies and independent playtime. He’s very social and enjoys the company of other dogs, though he doesn’t necessarily need a canine companion at home. True to his sweet nature, Pudgy will happily flop over for belly rubs and cuddle up for naps after a fun day of play. He also likes to stay close—he’ll follow you everywhere while you’re doing chores, always eager to be part of whatever’s going on.

Pudgy is a smart pup who’s already crate trained and doing well as long as he has a good chew toy to keep him busy. He’s working on his house training and improving every day with a consistent routine and regular potty breaks. Like most young dogs, he’s still learning his manners, so structure and patience will help him continue to thrive.

Because he can be a bit vocal and gets excited easily, apartment living isn’t the best match for Pudgy—he’d prefer a home with some space to move and play. He would do best with adults or older children, as younger kids can make him nervous, and when he’s overstimulated, he can get a little jumpy and mouthy. He’s good with dogs, not suitable for homes with cats, and loves being part of a family where he’s included in daily life and activities.

Pudgy’s foster family says he’s an absolute joy to have around—a dog who radiates happiness and makes everyone smile. Whether he’s trotting beside you on a walk, entertaining himself with toys, or snuggling up for a nap, Pudgy brings love and laughter to every moment.

🤍 Meet River Phoenix! 🤍This 1.5-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix is the total package — handsome, smart, loving, and just the right mix of playful and chill! At 75 lbs, River is a gentle giant who adores everyone.🐾
Once found abandoned on the side of the road with a litter of puppies, River hasn’t let his rough start dull his shine. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and walks beautifully on leash (he prefers a harness!). He’s confident yet gentle, curious yet calm — and yes, he truly believes he’s a lapdog. 💕
River loves adventures, car rides, and meeting new people just as much as he loves cozy naps, snuggles, and picking out the perfect bedtime toy. He plays tag with his dog friends, kisses cats, and even “dances” for his dinner before politely waiting for his bowl. 🎶🐶

At just 4 months old, Springer is the perfect combo of playful puppy energy and gentle sweetness. He was found outside a school and taken to the pound, but when no one came for him, rescue stepped up to give this little all-star a second chance.
Springer is curious, affectionate, and eager to please — whether he’s chasing a ball or curling up for a nap after practice, he gives life his all! He’s still learning the ropes of house training, crate time, and leash walking, but he’s already showing great potential. With patience, structure, and love, he’s sure to become an MVP for his new family team. 🏆🐾
