I started this design of American decoys way back in September 2013 (as seen on Facebook!), but it is finally finished!!! It still needs to be stretched & made into a cushion, but I sent a photo of it to an American catalogue & they love it & want it to go in, so that's great news! It should be all ready to go in the next month or so (fingers crossed!). :)

Lovely walk this morning through the wild flower meadow near the river. Grub finds it hard work running through the long grasses (don't we all!), but she kept going long enough for me to eventually get a photo where more than just her ears were visible! :)

Having seen a few elderflowers out in the garden, I bought loads of lemons & sugar in for making elderflower cordial on the basis that there must be masses out around the village - WRONG! Thankfully, we also had lots of eggs in, so lemon curd has been made instead - not a bad alternative if I say so myself! :)

Morning everyone! It's raining here, so it is a good day to get some designing done...at long last! I'm just in the middle of stitching my sheep design - of all the designs except one I have worked on before, this has been the one which has undergone the most changes causing constant unpicking & a lot of muttering & grumbling! Nevermind, I think I am on the home strait now...fingers crossed! :)

Another lovely sunny morning, but still with a cold wind blowing! Here is a photo of Grub amongst the aquilegia, looking slightly pensive - probably because she knows she shouldn't be sitting in the actual flower bed!!!

Whilst the pitch invasions here at Newcastle Football Club can be annoying, they do at least save on the cost of ground staff! :)

Morning everyone! Gorgeous day here & whilst we were on our morning walk through the village, I couldn't resist taking a photo of the stunning array of wild flowers surrounding the graves in the old part of the church yard. I think it is a idea to keep this patch 'wild' until the end of the summer.

It is absolutely gorgeous to receive photos from you when you have finished your kit & have it proudly on display in your home! This one looks wonderful & is in such a fabulous setting - this is exactly what I had in mind for the final destination of the Bakelite Phone canvas when I designed it! Thanks so much for a wonderful photo Jeremy! :) Please do send any images through to me of any stitching projects during completion & completed - I love seeing them!

Ah, the dreams I had...I could feel a bit of 'Grand Designs' coming on, when the builders took off the felt & slates from the gable end. A huge glass panel would have been just the thing...not too sure English Heritage would have agreed!

Hi everyone! We decided to make good use of the old Victorian tub that had been left in the garden when we moved in. As you can see from Grub's face, she wasn't as enthusiastic about the idea as we were!

After hacking away masses of ivy we finally managed to get into the little stone privy which is built into the wall of the garden. We're now in the process of removing loads of rubbish from inside & have begun to unearth a beautifully laid quarry tile floor! Definitely a privy of some refinement & it seems far too posh to just put garden tools in!

Sunshine & showers today, but yesterday was a different matter - it was absolutely gorgeous! This photo was taken from Offa's D**e looking back towards Newcastle village with the little church snuggled in the hillside.
