Please note: The Hopkinton Dog Park surface is rice stone which is a form of pea gravel. This is highly recommended for dog parks by both the Stanton Foundation and our architect. However, what many of us did not realize in advance, it takes getting used to. Our dogs' paws need to build up a tolerance to it. Starting out with short visits is the best approach.

We ask that all visitor to the Hopkinton Dog Park follow the rules. The signs are still on order.

Park Rules

1. Dogs must be in view and under the control of the handler at all times
2. Handlers must pick up and dispose of their dog's waste
3. Dogs showing aggression towards people and/or other dogs are not allowed
4. Dogs must be leashed when entering or exiting, removal of leash should occur in between the double gates
5. All dogs must be licensed, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and healthy
6. Handler must be 16 years of age or older
7. Handlers are responsible for any injuries or damage caused by the dog(s) under their control
8. All bites must be immediately reported to the animal control officer
9. No more than 3 dogs and or children per handler per visit
10. Excessive barking is not allowed

The gates are in! The Hopkinton Dog Park is now ready for use. Enjoy!!

As of the Parks and Rec Board Meeting last week, we are expecting the dog park to be usable as soon as the gates are installed. This is a very important final piece for the safety of dogs.

We are getting closer to completion. The ground material is all down. The rock features have been placed. The first layer of asphalt has been put down. Trees have been planted. The fencing will come next.

Thanks to an Eagle Project from Boy Scout Troop 1 Hopkinton, the Dog Park has a sign. The frame is now cemented into place.

The Hopkinton Dog Park is coming along! This week all the irrigation lines were placed beneath the stone. The fence posts have also been set.
