News from home,
As the turkey made its way from the brine bucket to the baking pan Roxie was not there to perform safety checks on the operation. When Zoe accidentally spooned stuffing onto the counter and floor Roxie was not there to offer her janitorial services. When the mixing bowls were done and set on the floor next to the dog bowls Roxie was not there to fight for her share. That was odd behavior for such a pregnant and peckish little dog. Even when dad came home and the house burst with activities Roxie was nowhere to be found.
Outside of the commotion of Thanksgiving festivities Roxy was quietly busy setting a table of her own.
Ever since Thea got a human size doggy bed for her birthday Roxie has slept in it with her.
"Nice try human. Dog beds must have to have at least one dog in them to accompany a humans. It's a rule!"
Apparently giant dog beds are the most comfortable beds ever. You should see those two, zonked out like a crime scene in the morning.
Side note: to a very pregnant mama about to have 11 puppies, a giant soft dog bed also has an undeniable appeal...
Meanwhile we were in the middle of festivities downstairs. After a couple of bites we realized, "Wait a minute! Roxie never misses a meal. Where's Roxie!?" A minute later the Turkey table was In time out.
Yep. We found them. We got them reset and set up in a proper whelping bed before the beans got cold. 11 puppies! AMAZING.
So that's the story of the Turkey Litter.
We hope everybody had a beautiful holiday.!
