Relationship with your dog matters. But how do we do it in a way that the dog understands? They don’t think like us. Often we sabotage the training progress without realising it. Wanna know more? Shoot me a message with your questions and we’ll have a chat 😊
Haha when you have just been training off lead boundaries with clients dogs and your own dog puts himself in a boundary and wonders if he can come out or not 🥰. Good job hazza. Trainer's dogs training themselves 😃 Free buddy ❣️
👉 Does your dog know not to barge through gates or doorways without an invite?
👉 Do they hang around in the kitchen whilst you are preparing food and trip you up?
👉 Can your dog quietly stay on their dog bed when there is high distraction in the house?
If not and you would like to know more about how to implement good behaviour skills and manners under distraction , I'd love to chat with you.

Pawfect recalls with a fun theme 🐾🐶
What do your dogs do each day? We play lots of fetch cause mine love to play with the ball. But in that place and space they also need to play nicely. Some dogs came to me with aggression, some were over excitable - both behaviours create issues when not addressed.
So the dogs who come here all learn the rules around nicely mannered play around other dogs. No one is possessive over the ball, they share nicely, they love to chase n run n explore.....when they have nice manners it means they also get the privilege of more freedoms.
If u would like to explore what Canine Good Behaviour Shaping looks like .....I’d love to hear from you and book in a time to chat ♥️🐾
We dont need to say STAY or WAIT.
Here is Zena on day two of her training (taken previously) listening well and learning that she needs to be invited through gateways rather than running through ad lib. This is a safety feature as well as teaching a dog to have good manners and to use impulse control. Would you like to know more? Please feel free to contact me for an informative and friendly chat ♥️🐾
Amazing self control from Zena
Zena hasn’t been here long and being a spaniel she is a very active young girl. She is extremely loving but with that, also very pushy meaning that she likes to get her own way - often very sneakily 🐶🐾😜.
Here she is using her best self control to stay in her drop whilst the others play fetch. How good is that?
These sorts of training skills are super important to build trust and develop reliability with your dogs Behaviour no matter what is happening around them 🐾😊
Everything behavioural is linked to relationship (No trust. No reliability. Dog won’t listen) so if Zena can make good choices here under high distraction, she will also manage well in different scenarios and other situations too. It’s totally organic so she’s got better manners now too 😜
Practising the power of self control.
One of the most important things for a dog to learn is impulse control. But hey, I don’t want to do all the work 😜. No baby gates or me blocking the gate here. I just want to teach my dogs how to learn n listen well so that they can then make better choices for themselves ♥️. How good is that? It makes for happy dogs who are reliable under distraction. They can still choose to make a mistake (that’s all part of the learning process) but once they know what the rules are they are awesome to manage. Little Mirri has only been with me two days when I took this video (she’s loosely tethered for safety Incase she ran off into the paddock without being invited. But she could still make a mistake n dash through. Guess what ??? She didn’t. Well done Mirri ) 🐾💕😊
