THIS IS THE TIME: double check with the microchip company regarding your dog’s tags to make sure they are correct and everyone’s current address is correctly on file! This is the most important time to have visible tags and an updated chip because more animals go missing this month/week than any other due to fireworks.
Also, if you’re concerned with any sound sensitivity Trazadone is easy to inquire from the veterinary clinic and can temporarily keep your dog calm, safe, and home. Remember the fireworks amp up all week. If you can’t afford tags write your phone number directly on their collar with permanent marker—it doesn’t last forever but it’s better than nothing to get them home as fast as possible.

So very sad when you see your first litter pass. Beautiful Lou joins his parents and Siblings at the Rainbow Bridge. Such a happy group of shepherds. Lou’s antics will never be forgotten. We are very lucky to have such great families taking care of our puppies. Lou was from our very first litter in 2011.
It’s going to be a sad period of time for all who knew and loved him. Such a healthy boy who was only seeing some light mobility this last 9 months or so.
Keep Maureen Braun and her family in your prayers as they are going through this difficult time.

Tragically we lost one of our September 2022 T litter puppies. We had titled him “Tribute” thinking it was a cool name honoring a well loved Canadian tv show and now we find ourselves writing this beautiful boy his own tribute far too soon.

Lobo loved playing with animals, wide open spaces, splashing in water, and running. My youngest son nick named him Choo-Choo Train, I could only imagine, because of his steady pace & my son’s affinity for both this pup and trains themself.

He went home to a military man that lived off base in Alaska. Lobo LOVED everything about his wintery wonderland, woods, wildlife, and water. Sometime after Lobo’s first birthday his father got a call to pack out overseas; he had no choice but to find a person to foster Lobo until his return which could be an extremely long time and because of the nature of being deployed even a return was questionable.

A foster was found: close relative to a veterinary technician. Lobo was engaging with the Foster’s other dogs energetically and it was a nice fit for him. The Foster enjoyed training and playing with Lobo. Just days before December 2023 Lobo jumped out a second floor window to chase a deer with foster family in tow calling him and chasing him but tragically he followed that deer across a highway. After many heartbreaking hours at the emergency vet he eventually lost his fight.

This post has clearly been a long time coming as it’s one of the hardest posts to have to re-live as you write it. Lobo was such a fun-loving pup and should be remembered as such. Please send healing thoughts for Lobo’s Father Archie who may still be deployed.

Nimbus was so many things. He was Dan & Meg's first "fur baby", their best friend, their shadow, their protector with that deep bark, and great big brother to their lovely children.

He loved hopping up on the furniture and squeezing between his parents to get some cuddles.

I can just imagine Nimbus watching alongside the rainbow bridge, head hanging low off the side of the rainbow just waiting for his family to come home so he can welcome them with a hug.

Nimbus passed away Thursday February 22nd while napping in the midday sun in the backyard after one last playful romp with his kiddos Angie and Dj. He passed away naturally the same way his father Duke left us. The Duke puppies were always happiest outside. I'm sure Nimbus planned every moment before take off just as his Dam Ruby Dust planned those seconds down to the moment to be with her favorite person.

Gabriel was an incredible Emotional Support Dog for his family. Gabe’s owners names are Maggie Lewis-Bilas and Tony Bilas; If you’re a praying person please add them to your prayer list. Gabe gave her strength and the emotional support she needed to continue trucking this last 11.5 years. He made them feel safe as age crept up on them all. He never asked for more than they could give.
Gabe passed this morning and it’s been a hard couple days learning he was about ready to transition.
Gabriel was a Paisley x Duke puppy in the early years of our program. We enjoyed watching him grow and being able to visit him and occasionally train him when he lived in Florida and Illinois. His human parents are amazing individuals that we love immensely. We feel for you and our prayers will be sent up for this amazingly religious family who would appreciate everyone’s support through prayer.

Sad day when we lose a member of Nordwölfe gsd family.
During the last few holidays we’ve lost 3 and our heart is broken.
If you’re the praying sort please send up a message for Nimbus’ family, Gabriel (Gabe)’s family, and Lobo’s Veteran owner who happened to be overseas when the news of his boy passed.
I’ll be posting a small bio about each dog. We are sorry to lose any of our Nordwölfe family dogs but 3 since late November is highly tragic. None of these wonderful boys passed from genetic traits but it lays heavy on our hearts.
