It is common for even more delicate, fancy goldfish to transport in bags. Some of the fish in these bags sell for over $200! It is not cruel get a in a tote or bag. Best practice: while at the fair, slip Goldie’s bag into a larger, opaque bag and keep out of the sun.

There’s nothing “common” about this beautiful common goldfish. Look close at the “dotted line” that runs the length of her body starting behind the gill and back to the tail.
(Her little orange spot sits right on it)
That is called the lateral line. It senses vibration and movements and is basically her “ears”

Here is a great way to gobble up the nitrates made by fish p**p... sprout a sweet potato in a dark cupboard.
When little nubs start to grow, place just the very tip of the breed growth in the tank water.

Here is the one I put in. I put it in a month ago and just look at it now!
