In honor of my father who passed away recently, this year for Veteran's day we put in a show and tell for the local elementary school. So, Happy Veteran's day dad and to all the Veterans out there, we thank you.

Today we learned something new -- water turtles shed their shells! More specifically, their scutes. Turtles shed the scutes to make room for larger scutes as their shell grows and also to shed algae. Amazing!

The ToAS family has suffered a tragic loss of my dad, David Litsinger and due to his sudden passing, my mother who is terminally ill with cancer will have to move to assisted living on Tuesday. If you're willing to share or donate, anything is appreciated. We're all very sad for the unfortunate events my mother has had to endure and we're just hoping to get everything covered for the next couple of months until the death benefits kick in. We're asking anyone interested to please donate what they can to reach our goal of $10,000. All funds will be used for mom's care and expenses of the assisted living facility
