Black Beauty Shepherds Here at BBS, we breed for health and temperament with a focus on conformation, athleticism, trainability, and intelligence. True hearty, rugged GSDs.

We provide our families with confident, healthy, devoted family companions that possess stable temperaments and working drive. I am a small hobby breeder of the GSD located in the farmlands of Northern Maine just outside the Woodstock Canadian border. I keep my operation small and manageable which enables me to focus more on each individual dog and go above and beyond for the care of my canines and the puppies they produce. I focus on temperament, loyalty and intelligence for ease of training.

15 minute recess outside. It was a little cold, but they still enjoyed themselves. This is the last week with Alaska, Texas, Cali and Montana. They will leave my care and start their next chapter in life which comes on Sunday. I hope the 4 families are ready to experience what it means to have a BBS pup. I should say 3 families because Montana will be joining his big brother very soon! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ–ค

HAPPY 6 WEEKS! ๐ŸŽ‰ Puppies are now 6 weeks old which means only 2 more weeks before they start their new journeys. I will be meeting the families for puppy pick-up so please message me to let me know where you would like to meet. It would be ideal to choose an easy place on/off the highway as I am traveling to New Hampshire on the day of. Anywhere South of Houlton I can meet and I do mean anywhere. I want to leave my house around 9 am as it will take me 3 hours to get to Southern Maine. Again, message me so we can plan the day for March 3rd.

Puppies will be 5 weeks tomorrow and are simply perfect. Only 3 more weeks left before families meet their new fur-babies. As I've said in previous posts, this will be BBS' last litter as my only female is retiring. If you are a new family who has been wanting to add a BBS pup to your home or a family who is already part of the BBS family and you want to add another, now is the time to do it. One male is spoken for, and our only female may already be spoken for as well which means there are only 2 males left from this litter, I mean LAST BBS litter. PM to secure your BBS pup.

My gosh, so dramatic with the whining just to go back out and play. These pups are a bunch of pork chops. Mama has been away for half the day and they are doing so well without her being with them 24/7. Storm loves the break but also loves being with them again. They no longer get moistened kibble, they graduated to dry food only. They will soon be getting their aptitude tests around 5 1/2 weeks, but I already know they will all pass with flying colors. Puppy playtime with a five year old. They are getting so big and are starting to really enjoy their playtime. My grandson loves playing with the puppies and they absolutely love him. They are all very sweet and are already showing wonderful personalities/temperaments. They will be 4 weeks in only 3 days. They all had their nails trimmed today and another wormer dose. They are a bundle of love. โค๏ธโค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™

Here they are, whining for Mama. She is starting to leave them for longer and they are beginning to adjust. I actively try to break them from their feeling of aloneness. All the pups did great and will get better with time. ๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿงก

These 4 pups are reeking havoc and are all over the place. They already have excellent recall. All I need to say is "puppies!" and they all come running. Early morning shenanigans and all the canines were involved. It's going to be a scorcher today so playtime had to be done early in the morning. Bear, Storm, Freya and all 4 pups had a blast and now they are all knocked out. Only 9 days left before these puppers start their new lifelong journeys and I am so excited for all 4 families to bring home their new BBS pup and boy are they some hearty, rugged puppies. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ˜

Puppies always get riled up whenever Mama comes back from being outside. They all had some good slop and got messy. Of course Mom came to clean up the mess and to take care of the leftovers. Eventually they all settled down and are all back asleep. We still have pups available. โค๏ธ

Puppies were introduced to some ground up puppy kibble today, after a few nose dips into the sludge they couldn't get enough of it. Needless to say much of a mess was made, but Mama came in and cleaned the place up. Puppies turn 3 weeks in just 2 days which means only 5 more weeks to go before they leave my care. โค๏ธ

Father, son and mother. Bear and Storm's boy had fun romping around in the snow today with his parents. Bear ended up letting Diesel know to back off with some low fatherly growls. Diesel is definitely a BIG boy! โค๏ธ

Bear having a blast in the snow with his ball, Storm just watching and Freya running around like a nut. This is the last day of 2023 and as we enter the new year we will welcome a batch of 2024 puppies. Storm is definitely expecting a litter with the estimated date of arrival being January 11th. Puppies will be ready for their new homes in early to mid-March of 2024 so if you haven't already, DM me to get your names on the list. 1st spot for the males has already been filled.

I have another wonderful video update coming in from the Lamontagne family on their boy Sid enjoying some ocean time. It looks like this big boy enjoys being in the water which is another trait passed on to our BBS pups. I love this video because it really does showcase parts of Sid's personality. Thank you so much Sherri for all the updates you send on your beautiful BBS boy. Again, they do not go unnoticed. <3 <3 <3
