This week has been very slowwww but we think its due to the kids going back to school, first come the kids then the doggie grooming which is how it should be. That being said, let us know if anyone needs their pups' grooming taken care of. I think next year we'll run a "back to school" special with like 20% off or something. We'll call it our "BARK to school special".

This pretty lady Stella has come in to see us twice so far and she has progressively gotten better and more comfortable with getting groomed. Her mom was worried she would be timid and she was at first but I immediately could tell that she just needs the groomer to show her how to be comfortable and show her there isn't anything to be afraid of. I think a lot of people can get scared when working with timid large dogs but most are just misunderstood and need you not to be afraid of them for them to feel comfy.

A huge shoutout to the world cutest Pomeranian and Kaitlyn Raymond and husband Antoine (we all went to high school together). They do a lot of work in the adoption/fostering field in the pet community. they have two others who are getting bathed today. Thank yall so much for the business.

When you truly and honestly love what you do, it no longer is a job. when i worked for others the thing that made it hard was all the egos around the salon made it like a high school competitive environment and I just don't like that. I am a natural leader and i want everyone around me to win so i just dont understand when people get angry towards other peoples success. Now that I work for myself it feels like I Dont have a job, just a passion I get to partake in daily, and also I will have something to be able to give to my children one day.

Man this heat is something else! Thank goodness for Air Conditioning. anything over 80 is unsafe to work with dogs in. I keep the salon right at 68 and the dogs seem to appreciate it.

Wow summer is here already. We have officially been open for 6 months. I am so amazed at how supportive the community is in Middletown. Especially in these times, things just aren't the same but we feel that there's been at least a little good preserrved in certain areas of the world.

am i the only one noticing how the economy (at least in CT) is starting to go more local. Everyone is either shopping or buying from local business or just ordering off amazon. I think its a very good thing. Support your local businesses rather than the big corporate places. Local tends to be more affordable and you don't have to deal with supply chain issues,

we are currently looking for a person who loves cats and is interested in just coming in when we have a cat on the schedule, We can set a certain day of the week that we accept cats so that its not a random day. But the person needs to be willing to hold cats while I groom them, in order to really hold them you will have to scruff them which is holding behind the neck as a mother cat would. Overall I want to see how they do at that and then go from there and if they would like to start with dogs then we can talk further. Realistically that is the only position I need help with for now. If anyone is interested just reach out to me here and we can talk

Do Not wait to book your appt, once we get you in here once then we can just reschedule the next each time guaranteeing you will always at least heave something in the books so that its easier to change if need be. Getting calls saying other salons are booked until July. We have openings next week

Give us a call or text asap if you would like to book an appointment. It is mainly just me (Mason) and my schedule is filling up fast bc the word is getting out about us. We treat the dogs just like humans, we don't pile them in just bc they can't tell their parents that hey spent most of their day in a kennel. And don't get us wrong, a kennel should feel like a second home to your dog and they should be use to it but we don't take more than we can handle just to make money. Some times we do have to put dogs in the kennel but for no longer than 10/15 minutes. We believe it should be treated the same way you treat a person getting their hair or nails done, yes you can have one person off to the side finishing up while you get started in your next but you wouldn't take 5 customers all at 9am and put 4 of them in the back room while you work on the other would you? We are changing the grooming industry one step at a time.

We finally have some proper signage. We do have upstairs residents so I went with a sign that doesn't take away from the the architecture of the building. I got both the flag and sign from vista print and it was under 250$.

I've come to realize that Middletown CT is one of the most supportive towns that I have worked in. If you do good work, the local people always show love and support. I love being in Middletown, plus it's about 15 minutes away from everywhere;)
