I'm a firm believer in showing the good with the bad. I feel it's crucial to growth in so many forms. I've been fortunate enough to work with some amazing people and some beautiful animals, but it's not always smiles and happy dances. How you recover from the failures defines you.

2 years ago, on Easter, Bea gave us our first Brongersmai clutch. 17 beautiful eggs. Almost 2 years to the day she gave us 21 slugs.

Now...I could go put my head in my hands, sell the collection, and consider this a defeat. Luckily I'm Appalachian as a mo********er! So I'll count my blessings instead. Bea is doing great! She got all the slugs out of her so she's been soaked, cleaned off, and her tub has been cleaned. She's an extremely important animal to me so her health is priority in any situation.

There's so many things that could of gone wrong, after not having anything but huge healthy clutches I'll take this one on the chin. I'm just thankful to be a part of this journey with these amazing creatures.

Time to prepare for next year and look out because it's going to be a game changer.

I definitely gave her the right name. I've been waiting for this shed for to give her her tub upgrade.

Shes coming up on 2 years old. I assist fed her for months...moved to drop feeding her...Fast forward to now she takes F/T off tongs.

Don't give up on the slow starters! For me letting her starve wasn't an option.
