One day of instruction on the AKC Hunting Retriever program. This seminar is designed for individuals interested
in becoming judges and handlers who would like to learn more about the Hunt Test program and how dogs are
evaluated and scored.

Advanced Judges and Handlers Seminar
The Advanced seminar, also designed both for those with an interest in becoming a judge and handlers looking to
better understand the game, will reinforce regulations, guidelines and test requirements. Half a day will be spent
in the classroom, a day and half will be spent in the field developing and understanding the running of tests at all
three levels.

Training Day and Club meeting with BBQ on July 22, 2023

We are excited to be having a club training day and BBQ at the Wildheart facility in Santa Maria, CA.

Training day will start at 8:30 am to about 2 or 3 pm. Club meeting to follow immediately after. BBQ will be provided to all after training.

Non-members Cost is $35 per handler ( limit 2 dogs per handler)
Member Cost is $25 per handler
Guest for BBQ only Cost $15

Great list to have and put into practice!

An important step on your way to earn a ribbon or two in the AKC/HRC or to just have an above average hunting buddy is to train with a group of like minded folks with the same goals. Sharing equipment and grounds and knowledge will put you way ahead of trying to do it all on your own.
But for a training group to be a benefit to all members a few common sense,common courtesy guidelines should be followed. Thanks to Carol F. Cassity and her book “ Building a Retriever” we have that set of guidelines…take a look.
