End of the season. This is our spot. I love it so much. There is always birds and opportunity for adventure. It’s been a decade and I think about the dogs that have been here with me on those birds that we did get to work how we wanted. I think about how I want too much for my hunters/clients… I really expect way too much it seems. I will work on this. Thanks to everyone that comes here for all these years and thanks for helping us keep this spot open. If you didn’t come around it wouldn’t happen and we are eternally greatful.

Happy new year!

Almost sold out for our retriever sessions this Feb/March. I have room for two more dogs.

Conditioned retrieves for dogs that have hunted a season and finished foundation sessions. Let’s fix that retrieve so we don’t have to do any more dead bird hunting when pup drops that bird in the field/marsh..?!!

We are starting on Saturday February 1. Two months.

Hey … I still have a couple spots open for Feb/March sessions. Historically, I have used these months to focus on retrieves… tho we can do foundation etc.

My month 3-4 retrieve program:

X conditioned retrieves
X fetch
X hold
X collar pressure
X heel
X sit/stay
X steady at the line
X steady to shot
X distant marks

These sessions are for both upland and waterfowl dogs and are essential to the discerning handler. My method has been honed over the last 15 years and has been described as gentle.

Candidates have finished “foundation” sessions.

Fall “tune ups” available… I have a couple spots open for short term boarding with bird planting scenarios and roading. Big fun. Just ask the dogs. Contact me directly. Opening day is coming. You work too much. Hahaha.

I did a little “after hours” training with my pup “Musket” last night. I don’t get as much time as you would think to do my own dogs. Showing him doubles with small targets. I launched the birds so their silhouettes would disappear in that tree to challenge his eyes. He’s starting to get it. Overall this has been a really nice pup from Kindig Kennels. He was quick to all the sessions I have shown him. He FF in a week. That works out really good for me because as many of you have likely heard me say that at the end of the day of training all my clients dogs, my dogs don’t get too much attention. Ha ha. The crunch is on for Musket and me so that we are ready for our waterfowl clients. Ha. Have a good season everyone… and remember: there is way more out there than the target. Don’t forget to have fun! AA

Started dog for sale: 1.5 years old Neutered Collar conditioned Crate trained Good with other dogs 2 months bird work Super friendly Intro to water Real fun started dog that is easy to handle and knows what he’s looking for in the field. Will make a real nice companion and foot hunters dog. Very quiet in his kennel. Nice on/off switch. Mellow for a pointer. Ready for your upcoming hunting season. I’ve not had him inside, but I’m guessing he has been an inside dog before we trained him. More videos in comments… DM or text 206-769-9036 I will not answer questions in comments.
