I think heā€™s warming up to me.
Of course, with a little help from Amber too.

On Sunday this 2yr old untouched draft x QH will arrive at the ranch from Pincher Creek, AB

Heā€™s a pretty good size for two. Thatā€™s the draft. Heā€™s going to board here so we have the luxury of time. Still, I canā€™t wait to see what we can accomplish together!

I love seeing the transformation in a young horse.

From unhandled, unhaltered & frightened of most everything~To calmness in being tied, saddle pad on and off, the pressure of weight on the back, being led with ease.
And most of all, their confidence.

Yesterday we welcomed Pria, Big Momma and Blue (heā€™s so cute) to the ranch. Weā€™re very excited to have them here!

I haltered the mini for the first time today. She did great. And introduced a small blanket to Dakota. She wasnā€™t a fan at first, but relaxed with it on her back before long. They need to experience all sorts of new things, and you work them through it together.

Pretty hot days to be loading, unloading and stacking squares in the barn.

But, as the old saying goes, gotta make hay while the sun shines!
(At the end the only dry part of my shirt was the very bottom. Lol)

Our Story

In 2015 we started boarding our first horse, April. She had been neglected for quite some time and was borderline wild, even had been attacked by a cougar shortly before coming to us from northern Alberta. Her good-hearted owner thankfully took her out of that environment and brought her to Moose Jaw for a short period, then out to us. We worked with her and calmed her, gaining her trust as we went. About six months later we had the option to buy her, which we did in an instant. We were totally in love with her by that point. And today she is a very relaxed, gentle, and happy soul. Ever since we have provided care for, and worked with othersā€™ horses, with our objective being gentleness, compassion, and seeing these lovely animals free in nature as we believe they should be. They run free as a herd in our pasture, and there is simply a no more beautiful sight.
