There ain’t no party like a pity party 🎉🐶 meet our December campers!

Riley - 2yr old Pitbull with a big heart! Her biggest challenge is working on impulse control around other dogs and over excitement. She’s very food motivated and is crushing her training so far!💥

Tovah - almost 2yr old Pitbull who’s a big sweetheart! Tovah’s biggest concern is social anxiety. This is her first week at camp and she’s doing an awesome job building a strong foundation 💪

Koda - 10 month old chihuahua, the smallest of our pack! He may be only 8lbs, but you’d never know it with his bark. Koda came to us very fearful of everything — random noises, strangers, and definitely other dogs. We’re excited to post his progress video soon because this little man has grown into one confident chihuahua!

Scout - 3yr old Hound mix. He’s a new addition to his family ❤️ and one of our prior clients! Scout was having a hard time settling down in the house and taking queues on when to play and not play. We’re working on skills to get better control when he’s interacting with other dogs so he and his brother dog can live happier together 😊

Maximus is starting to take his talents outside! When beginning to train in more distracting environment we try to make things as easy as possible for the dog to bridge the gap between what they learned inside and how to apply in another setting. Along with making it easy is doing A TON of repetitions.

25/10/2021

Everything with training starts with clear direction with the use of the leash. This session we are focusing on initiating all movements with the leash first and having Maximus follow in behind. Utilizing treats can make your training sessions more efficient, fun and keep your dog's engagement for longer periods of time

Before video of young Maximus. This GSD is easily stimulated especially when out in public and around distractions. Along with being able to calm down when asked he needs some work understanding better boundaries with the other dog in the house along with human guests. Stay tuned for updates on this good lookin pup!

Huge shoutout to for letting my dogs try out their awesome toys! At Capital Canine we work with a ton of mentally and physically strong dogs that can be determined and destructive. These toys are a great match for dogs that are normally able to tear apart toys in the matter of minutes. Having durable toys is important to me because my personal dog Ghost swallowed a toy when he as a year old causing a blockage. He was throwing up in the middle of the night every hour and needed to go to the emergency vet. Investing in the right toys for your dog can prevent stress for you and your dog along with a hefty vet bill

Belle's before video where we can see how strong of a leash puller she is and how easily stimulated she can be. Stay tuned for updates on this beautiful lady!

Taking a shade break from today's walk with this good lookin dude.

Pro Tip: Give your dog structure on the walk and have them hold at least one sit or down to show that walks are not the time for wild energy. This also gets them used to taking direction from you!
