I love my little co-pilot Daphne DooDooPants! She is feeling like a million bucks after having those rotten teeth pulled! She is back to eating softened kibble and a bit of wet food mixed in like a champ! She can finally give us sweet, gummy kisses too! We love seeing how much better she feels after her procedure! We still need to raise funds for her dental however. Please consider making a donation, big or small, to our small rescue and help us help these special kids ❤️
We appreciate you all!

Here is the much awaited "Daphne Doo Dah" update!

Shawn and I picked Daph up in Spokane on July 6th and met with Alice and Larry. The following Monday, I took her down to my work and had her checked out by the vets. Daphne is a sweet and healthy girl but needed some medical issues addressed, the biggest one being her teeth. Little dogs are very prone to dental disease a lot earlier in life and Daphne is no different.
So, we scheduled a dental for the following day (Tuesday, 07/09) because she had a few teeth that really needed to come out, or so we thought!
When Daphne was under and dental x-rays were taken, we discovered pretty much every tooth in her mouth was rotten and she had 2 oronasal fistulas! These fistulas are a result of severe dental disease and are basically an open pathway between her oral and nasal cavities, which were causing her to shoot some serious snot rockets!
In total we extracted 19 teeth, and the poor girl has only 2 left! We fixed her fistulas as well and she did excellent under anesthesia. Daphne woke up as always just happy to be around people and a big gummy smile on her face! I will post her dental chart for those of you who are interested!
We need to raise some funds to cover the cost of this dental and here is where we could really use your help!
Please share this post and consider making a donation (entirely tax-deductible!) to the rescue to help us cover the cost of her dental!

It's Wiggles Wednesday! They may not walk great but dang do they make up for it with cuddles!!! These 2 peas in a pod have not had any solid interest yet! Come on guys, I know we can find them a great home! Don't apply for these guys if you hate cuteness, a great personality and belly laughing at funny dog antics! These sweeties get along with all manner of pets and humans alike! Name a better duo, I'll wait 😉

Hi friends! It's been a while since we've hopped on here but Patrick and Portia aka the Wiggles need homes! Their current adopter is going through a hard time and needs to find these babies a good home! They are the MOST low-key, low maintenance pups! They are about 5-6 years old now.

A little history on this adorable duo, these two are a bonded pair, i.e. they have to be adopted together. They have Cerebellar Hypoplasia hence they are appropriately named "The Wiggles"! They don't do well on stairs and slick floors. These guys need a forever home, but even a dedicated foster to step up will do! Honestly they need a couch to crash on till they find their perfect home!

Their current adopter Alice, a long time loyal follower is happy to fill you guys in on any info about this sweet pair of siblings! Please reach out to us via DM, FB Messenger or email at [email protected] and we will show you why your home has a Wiggles-shaped hole in it 🥰🥰

Heath’s Haven Rescue

Heath’s Haven Rescue & Sanctuary is a special needs rescue for dogs with neurological issues, spinal injuries, paralysis, and mobility issues. We rescue dogs from euthanasia in shelters, have them evaluated by a specialists, that provide necessary diagnostics (MRI, Spinal Taps, X-Rays, etc.), start them on a rehabilitation schedule of hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and physical therapy, then provide them with wheelchairs. Based on the severity of the dogs impairment, we then adopt them out. Most of the dogs that have neurological issues and spinal injuries are incontinent, and they need extra care to prevent urine scalding on the skin, and special care for their hind legs to prevent sores due to dragging. Even though these dogs have a rough start, they live happy, healthy, productive lives.
