Saving Masaru

Masaru is an 11 year old senior that was pulled from Edinburg, Texas. Initially he was found unable to move and with an extremely matted coat. He also had maggots coming off his rear end. Upon veterinary assessment, his blood work revealed anemia, a high white count (indicative of infection) and elevated liver enzymes. He tested positive for heart worm and it was a strong positive. His skin was very infected from the matting, the impacted f***l matter, urine scaling, and the countless ticks on him. He has a bad case of hip dysplasia, but he walked a very short distance so there is hope. Masaru needs extensive veterinary care which includes multiple x-rays (to view the size of his heart and check his legs and hips), an abdominal ultrasound, diagnostic testing specific for liver disease, and treatment for anaplasmosis (tick borne infections) and heartworms for starters. This fundraiser will help to make a difference in what is expected to cost thousands of dollars. We thank you for being a part of Masaru's recovery!
