A review from a lovely family I helped with their three crazy cocker poos!

Ellie came to our home three weeks ago to help with our three unruly cockapoos! Three wasn’t a choice, due to a family bereavement we inherited the third, and as much as we love him it totally changed the dynamics. Their barking was relentless and we were struggling with what else to try to change their behaviours…. In comes Ellie, with her positivity and calm reassurance that all this will be easy to change. With slight trepidation we have thrown ourselves into the programme and we are all staggered at the change to the dogs and the whole household in such a short space of time. We can sit in the garden, welcome in guests, work from home without being constantly barked at. The dogs seem calmer and happier (and so does my husband:)!!!). We are only half way through the six weeks so who knows how else we will improve. Photos of sleepy dogs in the garden ……

They come home and the dog has found one in a bag they missed- look at his eyes- hahaha he’s so proud of himself!

Rupert on the left is a three year old Cavapoo. He has never had much interaction with other dogs and doesn’t know how to engage in play with them.
On the right is Temi, a four year old Border Collie with Cerebral Palsy. This makes him quite nervous of other dogs until he gets to know them.
These two have spent the last three days avoiding each other with very little eye contact.
Last night they lay on the sofa together- bum to bum but close enough to show me they had bonded with each other and were relaxed in each others company enough to sleep.
Patience, calmness and consistency is always the way 😉😊

Imidacloprid is a highly toxic pesticide that is banned for use in outdoor agriculture, but continues to be widely used in pet flea treatments, typically applied to the back of the pet's neck - known as spot-ons.

I need to bring this to the attention of every loving owner, as these common products that owners are urged to use monthly is destroying the eco-system in our rivers, and waterways, as it is destroying the essential insects that live in the water and also are a food source for birds, fish and other creatures. This will also go into the system of the animals that feed on the fish or birds.

This happens when a dog with these chemicals on its coat goes into rivers or even plays in a field near rivers and waterways are transferring the chemicals which have been found to remain on the coat of the dog or cat for weeks.

When a dog is bathed the chemicals get into our water system that ultimately flow into our waterways too

While I understand that we want to protect our dogs from diseases caused by ticks and fleas I would ask that before putting any product on your dogs please check the content first.

Please share this information.

Truly devastated. My amazing teacher, mentor, inspiration and hero. It feels like the dog world has lost its pack leader. Rest in peace Tony. I will continue to do the work you taught me to the best of my ability.

It’s with a very heavy heart we have to inform you of Tony knight’s passing in an accident on Saturday. Many of you have brought his book, attended his classes, been a patron of his, been taught to become a dog listener, laughed at his stand up shows or watched his wonderful you tube content. We have all learnt from this amazing man and he will be truly missed. We had our last monthly zoom call with him on Friday and as ever he brought, humour, knowledge and passion about our furry friends. Our thoughts and love are with Hayley and his family. Rest in peace Tony. A huge lost.

Another lovely review from a client . . .

Some months after my little Romanian rescue dog Thea arrived, work was essential to address her extreme stress and reaction to having my friends in the house. Ellie stepped in and immediately understood what strategy was needed. In conversation, I gained understanding of the how and why of this particular behaviour, as well as some insight into why dogs react as they do in various scenarios and to owners’ expectations and behaviours. This was added to by reading the enlightening book about ‘dog listening’ which Ellie recommended.
It has taken persistence to establish a calm reaction from Thea, but by following Ellie’s instruction and practical guidance, she is now calm and accepting when people come into the house.
I should add that two other trainers had no success in helping Thea with this matter.

Does your dog suffer from separation anxiety, fear aggression, lack of recall, fussy eating or other behaviour issues?!

I can help.

My name is Ellie and I am a fully qualified canine behaviourist with over 20 years experience working with dogs of all breeds, shapes, sizes and problems!

The process I use concentrates on finding the reasons your dog is behaving this way and help you to understand why.
We then work together on the ways to correct this, using no expensive gadgets or forceful actions.
Dogs are simply wanting to know if they can trust you to make the right decisions for them to be safe in their environment and I can help you achieve this.
Contact me via call, text or email to talk about how we can help your dog become calm and happy.
