MADACC opened August 1, 1999, and provides animal care and control services for the 19 municipalities of Milwaukee County.

MADACC is governed by a Board of Directors and an Operations Committee.

In just the last four days, MADACC has taken in 53 dogs, bringing the total number of dogs in our care to 146. Every single kennel is full. As the animal control facility for Milwaukee County, we cannot turn away stray animals—no matter how full we are. This means splitting kennels in half to accommodate more dogs.

How can you help?
• Share our posts to spread the word.
• Let others know that MADACC is the first place to check if they lose their pet.
• Consider fostering, volunteering, or adopting to help us create space and save lives.

Most importantly, MADACC’s mission is to reunite animals with their loving families. Together, we can make that happen.

You may not be familiar with Shelter From the Storm, a Madison-based animal rescue that partners with MADACC and other organizations to help animals in need. The mother dog featured in their recent post originally came to MADACC, but with animal control facilities being no place for an expectant mother, she found safety at Shelter From the Storm. Unfortunately, her puppies have faced medical challenges that have resulted in significant medical expenses for the rescue. As a valued partner that took in over 267 animals from MADACC in 2024, we ask you, our supporters, to lend a hand and help them during this critical time.

We’re looking for a rescue or rescues that have some room for rabbits! There are 10 rabbits in total. They did not all come in at the same time. Friends of MADACC sponsored the biggest free vaccine clinic in their history to date on Saturday October 26th.
