Do you want to help raise money and organize events with Friends of MADACC (the nonprofit organization of volunteers that coordinates with and raises money for MADACC). Join several dedicated and passionate volunteers on the Friends of MADACC board!

Friends of MADACC is looking to add a Fundraising/Events co-director to our board. You'll work with the existing director, to, ultimately, raise money for FoM initiatives by:
-Maintaining overall management of FoM events
-Seek out sponsors for our largest fundraising events:
Walk Run Wag and Barktoberfest
-Maintain relationships with sponsors and community partners
-Determine viability of potential events and make recommendations to board
-Register FOM for events
-Seek out new events, venues and opportunities for fundraising
-Fundraising events play a primary role in funding the work that FoM does to better the lives of the animals at MADACC and in our community. If you're interested in this role, please email [email protected]

Did you know you can save a MADACC dog/cat without the 'unknowns' that come with adopting a shelter animal?

But first, some background: In the first nine months of 2024, nearly 10,000 animals walked out of the doors at MADACC (an increase of almost 1,500 animals during the same timeframe in 2023). Of those animals, less than 25% (1,887) were reclaimed by their owners. While we LOVE adopting our animals straight to their forever homes, MADACC is designed (and funded) to TEMPORARILY care for STRAYS. Because of this, we simply don't have the resources to provide the detailed assessments that are offered by some other shelters/rescues in the area and we understand that these 'unknowns' (e.g. dog/cat friendliness, feelings about kids, potty training, etc.) can deter potential adopters. This is where our amazing rescue partners come in!

Adopting an animal from a rescue that pulls from MADACC is a win-win: Not only are you giving a formerly homeless animal a permanent home, but these organizations have the resources to make sure your new fur-riend is a perfect match for your family! Further (bonus win!) - adopting through a partner rescue opens up a spot for them to pull another animal from MADACC!
