Since our humble beginnings in December 2002, Joyful Rescues has grown into a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporate team of volunteer animal lovers reaching out to help homeless dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in need of love, affection and forever homes. We are a no-kill shelter – meaning we never euthanize for space. The founder and director, Joye Turock, along with her husband Jeff turned their lives

and home upside down in forming Joyful Rescues. When you hear the phrase 'gone to the dogs', well that is exactly where the Turock world has gone. Most pets are kept at the primary location (the Turock home & small housing facilities on their property) with the remainder of pets being in loving foster homes. Joyful Rescues is not a shelter where potential adopters can walk through to view pets in cages. For the most part, our pets are not caged, once the initial quarantine time has ended, unless medical or behavioral issues mandate it. Dogs enjoy lounging in the house, roaming the fenced 8 acre doggy paradise and swimming in the large pond. Our cats have their own 'house' where they are free to play, gaze out the windows and lounge wherever they choose. Our pets get the best care & treatment we can give here at Joyful Rescues- not to mention tons of love & attention. This truly is a labor of love for all involved. Joyful Rescues has been more successful than we could have hoped. We've had many successful adoptions with people traveling from all over NY, PA, the East Coast and even as far away as Las Vegas to find the new love (and sometimes loves) of their lives. Past adopters are invited back for our Rescue Reunion each August (see PetFest under Events). As space allows, we take in relinquished, uncared for, in danger, puppy mill and/or unwanted pets as well as unexpected litters. We do not agree with the discarding of pets for most any reason but we do want these pets to have the best life possible. They cannot do this in a home where they are unwanted. They will be tied outside as lawn ornaments, dumped off somewhere or worse. The pets we take in are for the most part healthy and non-aggressive. We will not take in or adopt out a pet that is aggressive and a potential danger. Upon arrival all animals visit accredited vets for a basic check-up.

Thank you to all of our supporters, followers, adopters, volunteers and everyone else that helped make Giving Tuesday a success ! Our FB fundraiser is still open and only $319 away from goal. The other platforms have ended - but our website is always open, of course. We will report a total amount once the dust settles and let you know our amazing amount that will launch us into 2025. Thank you also to people sending donations to the rescue - we are getting them ❣️

Thank you for everyone who has donated across all 4 platforms today !! Our FB fundraiser is only $815 away from reaching our goal of $2.5k ! Every penny goes to the cats and dogs living at Joyful until they find their forever home, and as you can see, we have more homeless pets coming to us almost everyday, like Sophie, who came to us today ❣️

Here at Joyful Rescues, we are grateful for the warm beds and full bellies, but what the others crave is a family to call their own. It's Giving Tuesday and I'm hoping you'll think of us pups with a little extra love in your heart (and maybe your wallet, too). Your donations pay for food, medicine, and all the things that keep us healthy and happy while the others wait for our forever homes.

As of today, there are 63 pets up for adoption at Joyful Rescues, and we have 10 current sanctuary pets who live permanently as part of the Joyful family. Help us save more dogs in 2025 ! We’ve been inundated with local surrenders ! Strays from dog control, municipal animal control, etc. Basically dogs that are searching for that forever family. We have taken in dogs from the south in the past, but pretty much since Covid, and the aftermath of Covid, there has been a huge need in the 7 counties of Western NY. Your gift to us today will help us make a better life for stray pets in our area.

Sweet Senior Izzy is VERY grateful for all The Shares & ALL The Love she gets from her loyal supporters, but sadly, no one has been able to offer her a Forever Family yet! Foster mom, (ME, Renee) LOVES Izzy VERY much, but knows she would live a fuller, happier life in a home with fewer pets. (She doesn't need to be an only!) She is VERY lovable & will head butt total strangers when they visit & tap them gently if they stop petting her too soon! SO PLEASE, once again, open your hearts & shares so Izzy can find her Final Forever Family! She's waiting for your app at Joyful Rescues! PLEASE SHARE!!!!!

BUDDY FRANCIE is adopted ! Buddy came back to us after his adopters both passed away 😢, but he is home again ❤️, with adopters that love him already. We are here for our adopters - we always take our dogs back if they find themselves in a situation like this ! We don’t make you wait or ask you to rehome the dog yourself. We love our dogs - forever 🧡 congrats Buddy, we are so happy for you and your new family.
