Psy made a really cool correlation just now. We just got done practicing door opening and I left the camera running and he realized that sweeping needs the dust pan and not only that he brought it to me. Dogs are so incredibly intelligent- and I believe we only briefly understand what they can do

Tobias is already a PRO at leash walking. Don’t ever let anyone tell you little dogs don’t need those manners too just because it doesn’t hurt when they pull you. Psy will be 11 months old on the 9th! He’s not even a year old and is starting to understand sets of behaviors to complete tasks! Though he is not a service dog he is a working dog, and working dogs need JOBS! #dogtraining #dogtrainer #belgianmalinois #servicedog #servicedogtraining

Reactivity- let’s talk. I treat reactivity as more of a Head space issue than a training session. Your dog at most has the capacity of a 3 year old child. That includes the fear and ability to process as well. Now let’s talk about how YOU react to situations. Once you’ve seen your dog have a negative reaction you are now apt to keep them out of those situations or walk away so the dog is comfortable. That is only enabling the dogs behavior more. I have high success in reactivity cases teaching owners how to remain calm in scary situations to change how the dog reacts in the future to the same situations it was fearful of before. Blue here is mostly male reactive and couldn’t be near another male previously without excessive lunging and barking. We are 4 sessions in and he can be this close now with minimal reactions. We are SO proud of him. #dogtraining #dogtrainingtips #dogtrainer #australianshepherd
