March is National Pet Poison Prevention Month. Our furry friends are curious by nature, but sometimes their curiosity can lead them into danger. Many common household items—like certain plants, foods, medications, and cleaning products—can be toxic to pets. Here are a few tips to keep your pets safe:

✅ Know the dangers: Chocolate, xylitol (found in gum), lilies, grapes, and certain essential oils are just a few things that can harm your pet.
✅ Pet-proof your home: Keep harmful items out of reach or behind closed doors.
✅ Store safely: Secure medications, cleaning supplies, and chemicals in cabinets.
✅ Check your plants: Some common houseplants, like aloe vera and pothos, can be toxic to pets.
✅ Act fast: If you suspect your pet has ingested something toxic, contact your vet or call 800-222-1222 immediately.

Kya and Kaye are a father and daughter pair. They both are super sweet – love to cuddle, play with toys, go for walks and wrestle with each other! Both dogs have a pretty strong prey drive and would be best matched in a home without another small dog or cat. They will make a great walking or hiking buddies and love to explore new trails.
