These pots are an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic pots or candle glassware, which require signifi
cant energy to make and can take centuries to decompose. The name itself reflects an initial stage towards incorporating eco-friendly, biodegradable products in going green. The ecopot can naturally biodegrade into organic fertilizer in landfills after they are discarded or buried in the soil. The degradation period takes one year. The ecopot candle is innovative, a TOTAL green solution to protect our environment. What are Ecopot candles? Our candles are hand poured with premium scented soy wax, a natural renewable resource, into biodegradable ecopots. The material is a great eco-freindly alternative to glassware which takes significant energy to make and a century to decompose. After the candle is gone, the pot can be resued as a nursery pot or flower pot which can still last for few years. Why use soy wax? It is an environmentally-friendly alternative to paraffin, which is normally used for candles and is a petroleum byproduct. The benefits of soy wax include:
*Clean burning - Soy wax does not produce the black soot like paraffin does, it burns cleanly and also releases a cleaner scent as well.
*Support US farmers - Soy beans are grown in American fields, which will help alleviate our dependencies on foreign oil. Paraffin is manufactured from petroleum from foreign countries.
*It burns 30%-50 % longer than paraffin and thus is more cost effective.
*Soy wax is biodegradable, non-toxic and water soluble - Soy wax is simply hydrogenated soybean oil which is biodegradable, non-toxic and harmless to the environment, children and pets.
