Thank you for considering our pure bred Pardalis Pardalis Leopard Tortoises. We have only recently bred and hatched Pardalis Pardalis Leopard Torto

ises, and believe that we are the first in the upper Midwest to do so. It’s taken us 8 years but we were successful hatching eggs from the first season of egg laying so we must be doing something right! The parents have come two of the most well-known and respected Pardalis Pardalis breeders/experts in the nation. Because we are located in Minnesota our tortoises are housed and bred mostly indoors. Our new babies were laid and hatched indoors – quite a rarity for Leopard Tortoises. We have made great efforts over the years in the raising of our tortoises to create and maintain wonderful, healthy living conditions. Our tortoises diet is composed exclusively of the best Orchard and Timothy hay and is supplemented by Mazuri Tortoise Chow, cactus, and other fresh greens, with occasional strawberries! Please research leopard tortoises carefully before deciding to own one of these remarkable animals. We spent a lot of time understanding what it took before we jumped in and we chose the leopard tortoise because of its beauty, its great size, and the relative ease of care required. We knew that we wanted to raise and breed an exotic animal, but also knew that we would become impatient with many of the high demand creatures out there. While leopard tortoises are relatively easy to care for, they do require some of your time everyday, and their environment must be set up properly and carefully for them to live and thrive. Please know that we are happy and delighted to share all of what we have learned with you (and if you have information to share with us, would love to hear) and we are happy to share our sources for supplies. Nothing makes caring for these animals easier than having a proper set-up and easy access to supplies. Below are the terms for Chubs. If you have any questions regarding any of this, please let me know. Supply:
We will never be a mass-producing tortoise breeder so our supply varies. Typically we have hatchlings available in the Spring through Summer, but we never know. This is a hobby, not our primary employment. Our goal is to offer a limited supply of healthy, purebred tortoises with all the support and information we can to ensure long healthy captive lives for these animals. Payment:
Cost per animal varies based on size and age – typically hatchlings range from $275 - $350
Older animals are priced on a per animal basis. Paypal is the ONLY accepted method of payment. Notice to all buyers: if tortoise is shipped to address other than that on record in your paypal account, the paypal buyer/seller protection clause is void. Update your address as needed. Chubs can ship reptiles anywhere in the continental United States. Shipping and Live Animals Guarantee:

We guarantee live arrival if the animal is delivered on time and as long as someone 18 years or older is present and signs for the package. DOA animals must be reported to Chubs within 1 HOUR of arrival. Proof of DOA must be shown with a picture of the animal. Upon approval of Chubs, a refund for the cost of the animal, OR replacement of the animal may be given at our discretion. Shipping costs will not be refunded. Notification given of a DOA after 1 hour of delivery will not be refunded. We are not responsible for deceased animals if they are left outside. Animals are shipped via Fedex either through ShipYourReptiles or RetilesExpress. ShipYourReptiles offers additional insurance for DOA animals IF package is delivered late and DOA. They claim that Fedex on time delivery guarantee is void for live animals. ReptilesExpress does not offer insurance and they claim that Fedex on time delivery guarantee is NOT void when shipping live animals. I have found that Reptile Express is less expensive. We prefer not to ship during extreme weather conditions. Therefore, any shipments made when the temperature is below 40 degrees F or above 90 degrees F, the Live Animal Guarantee will be void unless shipped to a Fedex Service Center. Packaging:

We use industry standard insulated and labeled shipping boxes with hot or cold packs, depending on temperatures. Shipping cost is based on buyer location and will be determined at time of order. Shipping is only done Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday for arrival next day. No shipping is done after Wednesday. Actual day of shipping will be determined based on your availability. Someone 18 years or older MUST be present at time of delivery and must sign for package. If someone is not present, live guarantee is void. We are not responsible for any losses due to delivery delays, mistakes, or mishandling made by the carrier. Healthy Animals:
Chubs is not responsible for any medical incidences or complications (including, but not limited to, salmonella infection incurred by the animal or the premature death of the animal). All buyers must be 18 years of age or older at the time of sale. We strongly encourage all buyers (and it is in your very best interest!) to read the corresponding care sheet for their tortoise BEFORE purchasing the animal. We sell only captive bred reptiles that are eating, growing and strong at the time of sale. Since we have no control over the environment to which the animal is going, we do not guarantee the health, growth and appetite of the animal after it is in its new home. Care Sheets for Leopard Tortoises:
These are two excellent care sheets for Leopard Tortoises. These animals are still relatively new to captivity and we are still learning about the best ways to care for them. In recent years new books have been written about the captive care of leopard tortoises and we encourage you to check those out as well. http://www.chelonia.org/Articles/Mistypardaliscare.htm

Our main goal is to make every transaction a great experience, if any problems arise, please be assured that we will do our best to make it right! Our reputation is important to us and we strive to provide you with great tortoises as well and good customer service. If there is a problem with any animal, we ask that you keep the details of the problem(s) private. Posting details of the transaction, problem, or claim, on any public forum or website is a violation of this policy and will result unconditional void of our guarantee. Under 4 Inch Tortoises:
Tortoises under 4 inches are sold for scientific or educational purposes. General Information:
We have been carefully tracking the weight as size of my tortoises well as their daily diet since the day we got them and would like to request the approval to contact you to collect data relating to each tortoise that has been sold for the purpose of gaining a better understanding of Pardalis Pardalis tortoise care, captive reproduction, longevity, etc. Your names, addresses, & all contact information will always be kept confidential. No monetary compensation will be paid for any information that is provided. All leopard tortoises require a HEALTH CERTIFICATE to ship out of Minnesota. Currently our prices include the cost of this CERTIFICATE. We will not knowingly ship our tortoises to states where they are prohibited, however it is the responsibility of the buyer to know the laws of your state. Chubs is not responsible for the any delays/denial of any shipment caused by the destination state. Please be aware of your state wildlife laws. Sec. 74.1 General prohibition. The interstate movement of leopard tortoise (Geochelone pardalis), African spurred tortoise (Geochelone sulcata), and Bell’s hingeback tortoise (Kinixys belliana) is prohibited except when tortoises are accompanied by a health certificate signed by a Federal or accredited veterinarian stating that the tortoises have been examined by that veterinarian and found free of ticks.
