PUPPY DEVELOPMENT... ALL ABOUT THOSE EARS AND EYES!
Puppies are born blind and deaf, with both their eyes and ears sealed shut. For their first two weeks of life, newborn pups experience the world entirely through touch and smell.
During the third week their eyes and ears open, giving tiny pups a whole new way to experience life. However, even then the eyes are not fully developed and functioning perfectly. It will take several more weeks before their eyes mature and their eyesight begins to approach normal.
EARS: Puppies are born deaf, and this is the last of their senses to fully develop. They can’t hear until they’re about three weeks old. Once their hearing kicks in, they hear about four times better than most people, including hearing a wider range of frequencies.
You’ve probably noticed that your puppy can hear things that you can’t. You’ve seen her c**k her head to one side and look off in the distance, long before the object or person comes into sight.
Dogs’ ears have much deeper canals than ours, which creates a better funnel for sound to carry down to their eardrums. All dogs, but especially those with upright ears, such as German Shepherd Dogs, use their ears almost like radar antennas, thanks to the 18 muscles they have to fine-tune the ear’s position and essentially “turn up the volume” on their hearing.
“This can also makes dogs more sensitive to some loud noises than humans – this explains why thunder or fireworks may be puzzling, frightening, or even painful,” explains Dr. Jerry Klein, AKC chief veterinary officer.
EYES: For the first two weeks of their lives, puppies can’t see their worlds. Their eyes open when they are 14-to-21 days old, but their sight is still limited. Humans rely heavily on sight, so of course we want to know if our dogs do, too.
You may have heard the popularly held belief that dogs are color blind. This is not entirely true. Dogs’ eyes do not have as many cones responsible for color vision in their retinas as humans
This warms my heart! So proud to get to see first hand, the joy that comes from watching someone light up when you hand them their new bundle of joy ☺️❤️🐶
🥰 Quick video of the babies before dark. Enjoy 💞

Koppertox
Always a great day when you can whip some cream and make some butter. Yes I know there are jar churns but your girl is busy and this works well. With the prices of butter like real butter now $5+ I rather make our own and infuse it with herbs if we want of freeze some for use when needed. You can also melt the butter once it's made and make ghee a fermented butter that never expires. Ghee also has a higher burn point so is great with cooking.
SOLD going to live at a farm in New Jersey:)

As many of you may know we had kept a puppy from our previous litter as we absolutely loved the pairing. Now here is the thing we have gone back and forth on names and none have yet to stick. Maybe one of you may have a great name in mind? Here is the catch we use guardian/protector names so military, names that have meaning and religion theme names.
Female
The breeding is a little smaller of a litter than we are accustomed to but we have
1 white female
2 white males
1 grey badger male
This litter will have first round of shots dewormed and microchipped
Two more girls
We have full blooded Great Pyrenees pups, have been with chickens since birth, parents have been with chickens and sheep. Pups will have first shots and be ready for homes the first full week of September. Parents are both on site, have references on grandparents and from our first litter as well. 7 males and 2 females still available, deposit required, pm for details.
This is the part of farming that goes unseen that many in the raising of livestock live in.
Investing 4yrs of selective breeding to our goal of productivity animal to produce her. Words can not express how much I love I have for this doe. Down to finding a photo that looked very similar to her at hobby lobby to hang in my home. It's amazing when the hard work really starts to finally show if it was all worth it. She is getting closer to her first freshing (first birthing) and I am on stand by waiting for these babies. They are the next generation of what I have worked on since establishing our own lines 10yrs ago.
Pairing her with Urban Acers VP Andy
We welcomed two gorgeous doelings to the farm.
Opal is an all black with blue eyes ADGA Nigerian dwarf with great genetic. We bought prior to our move that I just couldn't pass up on.
She has now given us two very flashy daughters for which one our oldest has called Angel for her wings. While the other we will come up with the perfect name soon.

Zarah (Zar-ah)
A biblical name but emerging as a variation of the Arabic zahrah, Zarah means "blooming flower." Embodying unrivalled natural beauty, it may be unsurprising that Zarah is often considered a diminutive of the Hebrew sarah, "princess." Whether a regal wonder or a down-to-earth soul, Zarah is sure to find the beauty and joy in anything life
