PET SAFETY REMINDER: Remember that asphalt (and concrete) gets HOT during the summer and can cause burns to pets’ feet. On a 77-degree day asphalt temps have measured as high as 125 degrees – and on an 87-degree day as high as 143 degrees (it’s already 88 today in central Iowa and temps are climbing, so even more dangerous)! Skin destruction can occur in as little as 1 minute on a 125-degree surface. To keep your pet safe, press the back of your hand firmly against the asphalt (or concrete) for 7 seconds before walking your dog on it. If it’s not comfortable for you, it could potentially harm your pup. Even better, walk your dog in the grass to not even risk paw damage.

These mischievous puppies have been apprehended on a variety of charges and placed into doggy lockdown!

Their mugshots look innocent and the public is in an uproar, shouting, "What have they done?" "They are innocent!" "You've got the wrong puppies!" "Free them! Free them! Free them!"

Before you rush to your keyboard to spread the word about this apparent injustice, consider this: the charges of disorderly conduct and organized crime are legit! As if that wasn't enough, several pups were caught on camera stealing hearts - Yes, hearts!

And to top it off, adding to their growing list of charges, two daring puppies were recently caught on security footage trying to pull off a Shawshank Redemption-style escape from their medium-security cell. These are some crafty canines!

Their only hope is to plead guilty to the charges, beg for the court's mercy, and pray the judge will consider this as time served! Their attorney seems convinced the judge will allow them a chance to make restitution for their crimes!

Tell me, do they deserve a second chance?? If released, they will need dedicated "probation officers" to oversee their every move! Are you up for the task??

We are so pleased to announce our final pairing between Kavik and Crash! Previous litters turned out so nicely that we knew we needed one more litter - if just the right puppy presents herself, we will be retaining her here with us to carry on after her mama retires next year.

And then there were two... Absolutely LOVELY little girls, Runamok Reasonable Doubt and Runamok Waive My Rights. You won't find prettier, sweeter, happier little souls anywhere!

Reason is stunning with a gorgeous wooly, wolf sable and white piebald coat and incredible, bi-colored eyes. She is charting for the miniature range (somewhere around 15 pounds, give or take) and she has a darling, family-oriented temperament. She will make for a small but hardy family companion, one ready for adventure!

Waive is equally darling, with a similar wolf-sable and white piebald coat and the warmest, most inviting, dreamiest brown eyes... She will melt the hardest of hearts! Waive is charting to be a very small Toy, probably under 10 pounds. As such, she will need a special home, geared more toward a small (but sassy) little lady!

A bitteraweet day for us (mostly sweet though!) We are traveling to deliver First Amendment to Boise, ID! She will then continue with her family on to Nevada, and eventually (after she is able to pass her rabies titer) on to to live in Hawaii!
